A good place to go for use of computers and printer for your resumes and cover letters. A few people are available to help with tips and computer use in general.

I actually had my very first interaction with WorkBC in general today. And oh boy, was it ever a bumpy ride. Now first the receptionist is snarky with me about how they’ve tried contacting me and left “a bunch of voicemails” I got one voicemail that day, so that was already off to a super friendly start. Then she proceeds to ask about my situation , this is important because this is where I clearly explain that I’m applying for disability and have already set an appointment with my doctor to fill out the forms required for disability. Aka my doctor deeming me unable to work. Otherwise he wouldn’t be willing to fill out the paperwork required for disability. Anyways, she pushes and pushed that they will help find me a job and I need to attend an orientation at 10am tomorrow etc. At this point as well we have gone in circles and I’ve stated multiple times I’m getting extremely anxious. She proceeds to push and push until I finally just started bawling. Like full on panic attack engaged. Once I was in full tears, she then finally decided to suggest that she calls me after I receive the paperwork / doctors note. Really wish that would’ve been suggested first instead of pushing me into a panic attack that I constantly warned you about during the phone call. Really poor service when it comes to Mental Health. Sad I had to get pushed to a full blown panic attack until another option was FINALLY presented , even after she claimed there was basically no other way to do this. Definitely made me borderline terrified of WorkBC and their employees.

If you are looking for work, these people are a must. If you are on EI, working part time, not making enough to survive, go down and talk to them. WorkBC is there to help and they have so many ways to get you the help you need. Amazing staff and safe environment.

If you need help with job search, potential for funding of training or wage subsidy if you qualify, this is your go to place. Use the computers, get advice, webinars. Meetings in person, telephone or zoom with employment counselors and job developers. Great support and they are always trying to find a way to help.
