Life is full of happiness and sadness. Life is also full of difficulties and luckiness. I was wrongfully terminated by my employer in July of 2023. The termination is destroying my family indeed. My wife brought our son, who was just two months old, from the US to Vancouver. Though I was agreeable at the very beginning, my wife did surprise me when she told me she would stay even longer after her 5th month arrival in Canada. I tried every method to ask my wife to bring my son back, which didn’t work at all. Then I filed Hague convention child abduction proceeding. I was so doubtful when I submitted my Hague application to the US Department of State and Canadian Central Agency because I cannot afford to hire an attorney. I even decided to represent myself if no one could help me. Luckily attorney Masha Lokshin took my case at a substantially lower hourly rate because my case representation was facilitated by legal aid. I cannot remember how many evenings attorney Lokshin made her best efforts on my case. Emails by emails, thoughts by thoughts. Most of the time I felt so sorry that I sent attorney Lokshin irrelevant evidence. She was so patient to look at them again and again. She helped me fight with the opponent’s settlement proposal seven times. She even tried to gain more benefit for me 10 minutes before the court hearing. Finally, the court dismissed the case because the opponent will send my son to the US voluntarily. I really appreciated attorney Lokshin’s work. I understood the review cannot 100% express my gratitude and thankfulness. But I decided to post here, and I would like to verify with anyone who wants to.
