We really enjoyed our overnight stay in Watson Lake and the Visitor's Center/Northern Lights Center was a highlight. We had a great chat with the local woman at the visitor's center and she got us started with the collectable Yukon city stickers (we later picked them up in Carcross, Haines Junction, Whitehorse and Bear Creek...only missed Dawson City). That was alot of fun and each visitor's center was unique but always pleasant! We enjoyed the planetarium show that evening and it was pretty cool that they had such a great theatre in such a small town. Don't miss the signpost forest while you are in Watson Lake either! Thanks for the great hospitality!

The ladies here are so kind and helpful! Thank you for the hot chocolates and tea! Great place to stop to find out local information and rest. The video played inside about the Yukon was very educational. We came to collect stickers, but they were unfortunately all out. The kind lady gave us an envelope to address to ourselves so we'll look forward to collecting our stickers in the mail in the near future. Thanks so much!

If you’re in Watson Lake, you definitely need to stop by and meet with Cynthia and Heather. They are so wonderful to meet with and they will provide you with so much information about your epic trip. There’s plenty of parking, lots of free information and very clean bathroom.

Great visit at their new location in the Northern Lights building (I think they moved in April 2025). Staff there were super helpful and directed me to exactly the information I needed to tour. Leelah helped me and started the movie for me so I didn’t waste any time at all. The movie was 20 minutes and informative and a good place to start. They should have more exhibits next season and recently moved but still worth a stop. Lots of great history in this area and wildlife and views.

The ladies working here are seriously some of the nicest people you will meet. They were super helpful and answered all my questions, offered me some free coffee (I declined), and were just a joy to be around.

Definitely recommended for people who are visiting the area.

I believe the center is only open from May 1 - Sep 30.

Most helpful and friendly visitor center staff we have encountered on our travels. They will bend over backwards to correctly answer your questions and solve your issues. (We, personally, are never issue free on our travels.🙃)
