A hidden gem!! Missed Laurie’s Bistro by a few hours, but heard excellent things. Games and an art center will keep you entertained and engaged. There are also showers and sauna (even when traveling through) that is available. *Bring your own towels* A must stop by when traveling through Watson.

We broke down in Watson Lake on our way to Alaska, and ended up staying for much longer than intended.
This rec center quickly became our WORLD. For such a small town, it is a beautiful facility, and so much more than a visitor center (of which it also is).
There is a weight room, little cafe, saunas, pool, showers, AND some great museum-quality displays. They even have one of those darkened rooms with benches and a giant movie playing on repeat about the history of the area. So worth the trip!
The staff is incredibly helpful, the building is laid-out well, and it is CLEAN.
A+ in my travel journal.

Fantastic place, $6.50 for a day pass (access to showers, washrooms, sauna, gym, games area, wifi). Staff are super lovely and the bistro as well. Seen about 7 locals come for food during the time spent here so must be decent (didn't eat food from here ourselves though).

Winter hours of the Rec Center - weekdays 8am-10pm. W/E 9am-6pm

Bistro hours- Mon to Thursday 9am-7pm. Friday 9am-3pm. Assuming they arent open weekends. Although the bistro says it will be closed on April 28th reopening May 5th
