In the summer I needed assistance with a legal issue. Like many new migrants, we do not know many of the regulations and laws in Canada: however, I researched through the internet, and I found Vanessa Friesen, as a lawyer in labor matters.

After thinking for a few days if I wanted to show my experience, I decided to contact her about my situation. She was empathetic with my subject and explained to me in a first consultancy what were the steps to follow if I decided to take her service.

The process was as she described it from the first consultation. During the process she always explained to me the pros and cons of each alternative in order to reach the best decisions for me. At the end of the day, we decided to reach an agreement with my former employer achieving the fairest result towards me.

I believe that when someone receives the best advice in terms of labor regulations and is accompanied by knowledge and professionalism in her delivery is what one could look for when one feels that has lost everything.

I rang Vanessa Friesen because I had issues with my landlord.
She was very rude. Told me that she had a hearing and didn’t want to talk. Then hung up.
Not the best first impression to be sure.
I would recommend avoiding her and her practice.

Not exactly professional. Called and left a voice mail, no response. Sent an email, no response. I then sent another email and asked can you please advise if you are taking no clients. She finally answered no. This took a 1 month period. I wasn't very impressed.
