Perfect for families and friends. Very clean and fun. Lived here for many years and seen it turn into a great place for all of Alberta to go camping, fishing, boating. Also they have a great rental area for seadoos and many other water craft

It's a great little facility, so many great programs, smart, fun, welcoming staff, and really accessible. Just right for the size of Sylvan Lake, but is kind of small for all it does. Great outdoor play space, great skate park, and my kids love going to programs, but it could do with more indoor space.

Very disappointed with our first (and last) visit to Sylvan Lake. We had heard it was a beautiful place with friendly people. We drove for three hours to get there and found a place to park on the street next to a little park. We let let our little 6lb maltepoo out of the car to run around. Within one minute, bylaw officers Trent and Mackenzie arrived to give us a $130 ticket. No questions asked. No warning. There were no signs where we we parked and thought a warning would have been appropriate. We decided to appeal and the person who called to discuss the issue was none other than the above officer Trent. Naturally, not being an independent review of the case, (ie he was police, prosecutor, and judge all in one), he let the decision stand.

This town suppose to have a friendly environment with nice people if pretending to be open to tourism.. My experience with some living there is completely different and far away from this expectation...My daughter and her friend were looking to visit this town on August 26, 2017 and I gave them one of my cars. I did not notice the license plate expired on July , they did not check that as well, so they got there, payed for parking till 7:38pm when planning to return home in Edmonton and, went to the beach. At 6:00pm a peace officer decided to tow the car because of the plate and when my daughter got back obviously no car, no info where the car is. Two young girls were left helpless in the middle of the night, 150 km away from their home , with 10 bucks in the pocket dealing with a rude towing guy suggesting sarcastically to call somebody to pick them up if their car has been impounded.
So, I got a $310 ticket, $250 for towing, two people coming next day from Edmonton to pick up the car, two girls extremely scared getting home form Sylvan Lake with strange people in the midnight. I admit is my fault but in the meantime $310 ticket is more than enough for three weeks license plate expiration. From my perspective, towing that car and living two young girls in the middle of the night in a hostile town was excessive and more dangerous than an expired license plate. Some authorities should act more responsible, their action suppose to protect people and create a safety environment not to expose them to major risks. Never come back in Sylvan Lake.
