He is honest unlike many lawyers I have spoken to from country's best lawyers to second and third best lawyers. He is above all of them. He is super transparent. Took $120k from me, violated LSO Code of Conduct by leaving me after she came to mediation completely ill prepared and then indicated after 5 hours of paid work for 2 lawyers and a mediator (over $2100 per hour), that we should get my ex to do some more numbers and reconvene? This was after mediation had already been delayed a few times due to her schedule and the opposing lawyer (more time to request more VISA statements and tax returns…yes another tax return…at what point are you ready Laurie?). A day later, when I started to realize the shock of what just happened, I told Laurie Pawlitza to get clarification from the mediators notes, which were very nebulous, before I would move further. Instead of doing this, she quit, siting me as the problem. She left my case at a critical time, violated LSO standards and clearly told me that she was not worried at all about LSO. She left me vulnerable with my separation, giving my husband and his attorney increased power. I followed directions given by the LSO and reached out to the managing partner there, not once, but twice, to achieve resolution. The second time, I was ignored. I was told that the managing partner was satisfied with what Laurie had told him and that he did not need to take it further. I have reported this to the LSO, along with heaps of evidence, including a taped conversation. There is no doubt about what happened to me. This is a clear demonstration that the very system that is supposed to protect vulnerable people who have an ignorance about the law, are the very people stealing money, time and emotional wellbeing of people like me. Do not use this firm. I was ripped off by a woman who dismissed me and left me hanging while not following the very laws that she purports to uphold with the clients she takes on….at least it did happen to me. Don’t let it happen to you. I signed a separation agreement in December of 2023, without a lawyer because I was worn down and couldn’t take it anymore. This cost me14 months of hell that I am trying to still recover from. I let go of the settlement that I should have got because this was harming me and my children. I hope to God that someone does something about this. It is just so wrong for Torkin Manes and specifically, Laurie Pawlitza, to get away with it. Isn’t it?

I worked with Matt Getzler to get a will done, granted it was mid-changing firms but it was by far the worst professional service experience I've had. Won't work with him or Torkin again for anything new.

Ryan Hauk is professional, knowledgeable and a SHARK. If you are looking for a top notch lawyer with a keen ability to quickly understand the issues and offer solutions, he is the one. I highly recommend him and his firm. I cant say anymore great things about my experiences with Ryan so if you need assistance with any issues call him right away. He takes care of everything and gives you peace of mind.

Side note: The bad reviews are most likely the sore losers that did not win against this firm and wish this firm represented them instead. Honestly, I can not fathom how else this firm would receive poor reviews.

Daniel Melamed acted as the mediator on our family matter. He did not attempt to understand the situation. He couldn’t retain information from meeting to meeting. He is very enamored with the wealthy powerful and is prejudice to the lower and less powerful party. I sensed he was part of the “old boys club “ and displayed a high level of chauvinism. . I feel he had a gross misunderstanding for my disabled daughters future and needs. . He shows complete incompetency. Do not hire him for your life’s important matters. He’s a golf club kind of lawyer. Palsy with the big boys. And that’s it ! Catherine Grundleger
