I am an international student of BSc and I have been here since 2021. I always personally enjoy a very good academic environment, whatever professors or classmates. The professors at my department always show great patience and kindness to every student and never did I see any irresponsible instructor. I will definitely recommend UWO to my friends.

I am an alumni of Western. I completed two degrees here, 24 and 29 years ago. On August 6, 2025, I had my own private walking tour of campus, just to enjoy the campus and to walk down “memory lane” when I remembered the art gallery on campus. It was a favourite place of mine to go.
The door to the gallery was open and an “open” sign was in place. I entered. A male individual who worked at the front desk told me to wait 10 minutes, saying that the art installation was not ready. I was encouraged to leave the building. I remained inside and looked at the “guest book”. During this time another individual entered and began to question my purpose for being on campus. I did not appreciate the questioning. I was allowed to enter the art exhibit. When I left the room where the installation was curated, the male individual sitting at the desk initially began to ask for my feedback of the art installation. This seemed respectful. However, he then began to ask many, many additional and personal questions of myself. I respectfully answered but was feeling uneasy as his questioning period began to enter the 30 minute plus mark. I did not understand why he was wanting to know so much about me. I found a social opening to leave without appearing rude. This man’s q and a of me lasted 35-40 minutes.
I felt sick when I left, realizing that this was a “soft interrogation” and I was being “detained” for reasons unknown to me.

I will contact London Police.

Very disturbing experience.

My experience at Western University was exceptional and second to none. I took courses in a variety of disciplines including psychology, business administration and marketing, and I was very impressed by the professors who are some of the world's leading minds in their various fields-of-study. I would often attend classes in the morning, study in the afternoon at the great library we have on campus known as Weldon, and socialize with my friends after, maybe hit the fitness facility with my gym partner and then in the evening, complete readings and study up at night. The nightlife in downtown London was an excellent social scene on Richmond Row, and there are outstanding bars and nightclubs, restaurants and fast food joints located downtown too for students to enjoy. My fellow students who I met over the course of my time at the university have had a strong impact on my life and I have to say that they are high quality people with bright minds who are also kind, outgoing and friendly. Great friendships were forged over my four year degree while in the department of social science. I would do it all over again if given the chance; thank you Western!

It’s a massive university where professors don’t really care about their students. You can’t ask questions directly in class; instead, you have to go through their assistants and hope they reply. If you want a place where you’re treated like a person and not just a number, look for a smaller university. There are many better options out there. The only thing this one has going for it is the facilities.

Just giving the 1 star for how ridiculous of a process it is to get your student card. I find it baffling that it's been over a week now since I submitted everything and I am still without a physical card. This should be a much faster process and it's inexcusable that their systems are down. Also in the year of 2025 you can't tap your digital card anywhere :/ so unless you have the physical one, good luck with getting on the bus
