I am deeply disappointed with the services provided by The Good Divorce. Despite their claims, my experience has been far from satisfactory.

We were told the process would take roughly 4 months, but it stretched out to nearly 24 months. This prolonged duration was incredibly frustrating and stressful.

Their fees are hefty, reaching into the five-digit range. Given the substantial cost, I expected a higher level of service and efficiency.

One of the most disheartening aspects was the apparent favoritism between spouses. The service was not unbiased, and it often felt like they were playing favorites, I have no words to express my disgust.

Another thing I didn't like was that they frequently relied on templated work, which led to errors and omissions. For instance, documents would mention "children" when I only have one child. This made me question what other steps they were skipping or mishandling.

The fees were also not fully explained, particularly regarding the 1-hour lawyer consultation included. Realistically, when was the last time a lawyer accomplished anything meaningful in under an hour? This lack of transparency about costs was another source of frustration.

Overall, my experience with The Good Divorce has been deeply disappointing. I expected a professional, unbiased, and efficient service, but instead, I encountered delays, high costs, favoritism, and a lack of attention to detail. I cannot recommend their services based on my experience.

Post Edit: Christina, let's agree to disagree on the outcome of your services. You may think it's defamatory whereas I'm entitled to having an opinion and and critiquing your processes. The last thing I wanted was to have a back-and-forth with you, so yes, I used an alias... concentrate on the initials!

I came to The Good Divorce by recommendation from a good friend. At the beginning I wasn't completely convinced it was a good fit. But now, at the end of the process this was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I had no idea how much was involved in a divorce and Christina and her team walked us through every single step. They went above and beyond. The hours they invested in getting everything covered; the hours they spent making sure our kids were cared for; the inclusion of a top lawyer to go over the separation agreement; the hours they spend coaching and counselling me and my ex to get the best result for us both was more than I could have expected. I cannot recommend The Good Divorce enough. Anyone who thinks they can do this a better or cheaper way at least owes themselves a consult with Christina and Margot.

The Good Divorce is exactly as advertised. The mediation and counseling services they provide are worth every penny, and didn't just save me a bundle over expensive, acrimonious legal wrangling, they were there for me every step of the way. They did a fantastic job mediating the most difficult parts, a meticulous job addressing the division of assets, and a compassionate job counseling me through my separation. Particularly after hearing from a number of friends about their divorce experiences without the kind of positive mediation I had with The Good Divorce, I highly recommend The Good Divorce for the work that they do, helping to get everything where it needs to be to move forward. Thank you for all of your help.

From the moment I typed in “amicable divorce Calgary” in Google and clicked on “the Good Divorce” I knew mediation was going to be the route we would take to our separation/divorce not only for our kids but also for us.

The funny thing that someone said to me early on was there is no such thing as a “good divorce”. I can firmly disagree with that statement now as obviously the process isn’t easy or painless, but Christina and her team worked weekly and sometimes daily to keep what is important as our priority. I didn’t know this when I started but I needed to be brave enough to look at myself, my past patterns and do some homework to grow, heal and own not wanting to ever be in this situation again.

Christina has the ability to bring out the best in someone, help him or her learn from their past, engage in loving themselves again for the future and growing to their new roles as “co-parents” that we take on when the marriage is over. I can’t thank her or the service she provides enough to help keep our kids first and heal us along the way too.

I feel we were lucky to have found Christina and her team. They are very aligned to what we were seeking, which was making the difficult divorce process as positive as possible and at the pace in which we wanted to go. The Good Divorce is really the whole package, from beginning to end they have you covered in a caring and respectful way.

I wish I could give a glowing review of TGD, as I think Christina has the best of intentions with her business and a heart of gold. Unfortunately, my experience has been far less than positive.

This week marked two full years since my former spouse and I began the process with The Good Divorce. While we have a mediated separation agreement, we have been unable to divide assets and finalise our divorce with the documentation and services provided to us by TGD. Our mediation plan and separation agreement was inadequate to divide financial assets, and my ex-spouse and I ended up drafting numerous addendums in order to attempt to complete the process. Two years later, there has still been no transfer of substantial financial assets. The lawyers provided to us from TGD were another issue altogether; after signing divorce papers nearly a year ago, my lawyer "forgot" to file the paperwork with the court and then lost the entire package. I had to start from scratch, right down to ordering a new marriage certificate from the registry. The papers were then re-filed with forged (future) dates and legal errors, and my application for divorce was rejected by the court twice more. I am still not divorced. I still do not have the financial assets owed to me. Two years and $7300 in fees paid to Christina and her team, the process is not completed and I am navigating it on my own.

As I said, I think Christina is a fantastic woman with a brilliant intention in this business; unfortunately, the business is only as strong as the people it employs, and the financial and legal professionals have been unable to get the job done. I've lost two years of my life and a substantial amount of money to this process and am still in the thick of it. To say I'm frustrated, disappointed, and dejected is an understatement. I think Christina's services would be better provided as a counsellor for folks going through divorce rather than an all-around emotional, legal, and financial mediation service.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Christina and her team at The Good Divorce. Christina is professional and caring. I didn’t expect to come out on the other side of the experience feeling so positive.

I was completely unimpressed with the service. The four month process took nearly two years. I found each "session" I was repeating myself over and over. Much of what I said appeared to be either dismissed or just blatantly ignored. My ex was afforded much more time with the staff, while I was told that I was difficult to get ahold of with no evident attempts made.
