I do not recommend this paralegal service. I hired her to look after a Landlord and Tenant Board case. I had already done a majority of the work. After providing all my documents and having a hour and a half in person meeting to discus my needs, we signed retainer agreement for a flat fee. She tried to charge me more saying it was more work then what she initially thought it would be. She tried this twice. None of what she did fell outside of our signed retainer agreement. We had 1 appearance at the tribunal and her completely inappropriate and unprofessional conduct as well as her incorrect interpterion on the law and LTB proceeding, caused us to go last in the day. She did not amend my claim properly which resulted in it having to be adjourned and submit another amended application.

After the hearing we had a long in depth chat about her trying to send me another invoice when we had a flat fee retainer agreement. It was agreed that I would make the changes on the amendment and that she would just have to reserve it. I created a Googledoc so she could see the updates as I was making them. While I was updating the document, I received an email from her saying its more work then she initially charged me and because I refuse to pay the additional invoice, that she was withdrawing as my legal representation.

I now have less then 30 days to amend her mistakes and am out money I could have used to hire someone to handle everything properly from the start.

She has added and created more stress to my life throughout the process. I find her conduct in hearings and outside of them to be unprofessional. She says she has 20 years experience but the adjudicator at my case was appalled with her conduct and so was I. I am in the process of opening an LSO complaint against her for multiple violation to the Paralegal Rules of Conduct- Law Society of Ontario.

Just thought I would share my story to hopefully educate someone looking to hire her.

I was charged with a criminal offence and was extremely nervous so I spoke with this paralegal. I wasn’t sure if I was going to retain her but she kept saying that she needed $1000 prior to my first court date. I paid her $1000, she appeared at my court date and after getting the information from the crowns office, she suggested I plead guilty and spend time in jail. I told her that I don’t believe the complainant wanted to pursue the charges and that I couldn’t spend time in jail as it would ruin my life. She told me that was my only option. I didn’t feel right about it, so I fired her. I was able to deal with the charges on my own. Given that she never actually completed my matter I thought it would be fair to get a bit of my money backed. As soon as I asked about some money coming back to me she cut off all communication. I emailed her that I didn’t think this was right and that unless she talked to me, I had no choice but to speak the Law Society. She then said she would call the cops on me and have me charged with harassment. She already knew from speaking to me how important it was to me and my family that I not spend time in jail, so I found it extremely unfair and unjust for her threatening to have me arrested all because I just wanted to talk about whether or not I deserved some money back. She never did the work to complete my matter but she took my money as if she had. I found the whole experience very uncomfortable and like I had been scammed.. Wouldn't even be worth 1 star to me. But I gotta give her one to make the post ..Very unprofessional.. June 30th 2024 Due to the email that I have saved the One where you wrote in all CAPS stating you would have me charged and arrested for harassment I feel it's best we don't communicate and I will make my formal complaint to the Law Society.. They will look In to it I feel a deserve a bit of money back ...As I etransfered you way to soon due to you buggin me to send it.. Meanwhile I didn't know if I wanted to use u .. ..Just use people for a quick buck. As all your other review answers they all seem to be copied . Same reply for everyone.

Eduarda was very kind and caring towards me. I had an issue with the landlord/owner kicking me out of my place. She was able to help me understand my rights and helped me be able to stay in my place. Without her help, I would have had to move out in an untimely manner. I am glad I have some peace of mind and can stay. She spent a great deal of time speaking to me over the phone, clarifying and negotiating with the landlord on my behalf. Much appreciated!

Eduarda is the absolute most unprofessional legal representative I have ever hired – full stop. Good on procedural law but that’s where it ends. She asks questions and then talks over you as you try to answer. Refuses to listen. Refused to look at the files I sent her showing my claim values. Refused to read an email thread I sent that discussed the very topic she was asking about. Six (6) weeks before my trial date she states that she may not represent me after insisting I move this case to her firm (if she was to take on my other case). Her billing due date is IMMEDIATELY – WTH? I ultimately ended up having her withdraw my (extremely winnable) case. I had zero confidence going to trial with her as my representative. I expected a drop-off switching from a lawyer to a paralegal but I never anticipated it to be so precipitous. In my opinion, you can easily retain someone else that is better but would be hard-pressed to find someone worse.

Sept 19th/22 - You know very well that there are no inaccuracies on my part - just facts. After our last phone conversation, I have no desire to communicate with you whatsoever.
