Very expensive. I went in just to get a signature witness for a documentary already prepared by another lawyer. I was charged $130 plus tax for something that took 5 mins. The other law firm said that that type of service should have cost $50 at most.

Was hoping to get a simple document notarized quickly. Called to book an appointment, where she failed to take my name or any contact info. Then upon arriving a bit earlier, I called and was told to wait 10 more minutes as she was in another meeting. She also seemed to have double booked me as another person also arrived for an appointment at the same time as mine. Long story short she never showed up for either of us.

I was in her office at 2 PM. I requested a statutory declaration. She said to come at 5 PM to pick it up. However, she charged 195 CAD for a "rush" order. I could have written this declaration myself (a simple 1-page document). She even said it took her 45 minutes to prepare it but somehow charged me for 3 hours of her time? They usually have templates for these documents, and they can finish them in 10 minutes maximum. The standard price is 100 CAD per hour everywhere in Richmond, BC, for a document like this.

Poor value.
