Shantale D’Aoust is the lawyer in this firm who recently finalized my Common Law Separation Agreement. From my first interaction on the phone with Shantale she radiated calm professionalism. In all the meetings in-person, on the telephone and communications by email Shantale was professional, caring and patient. During such an emotionally turbulent time Shantale and Ashley consistently returned either my phone calls or emails promptly which helped significantly to keep my stress level low. I never hesitated to ask a question as both Ashley and Shantale made it clear that it was safe to ask about any process or point of law. Beware of this firm, my case was a fairly cut and dry situation where I was getting divorced, where we had already decided and agreed on how to split our assets. I have a hunch that newer lawyers here are not treated well, as many end up leaving (I had two lawyers during my case and both transferred to a different firm) I ended up following one of the lawyers to her new firm and the (positive) difference was night and day to what I had experienced at spectrum.

At a point it was very unclear how hours were being billed and the staff was unable to answer questions or dodged them entirely. Do not use this firm if you are wanting support, clarity, and peace of mind during a very vulnerable and costly time in your life.

As an edit: the firm is so petty and unprofessional that they deny I was ever a client which I suspect is what they must be doing with other poor reviews to save face (seen in their reply below.) You get a feeling when people are treated poorly or have constraining situations in their place of work, and this is what happened in my experience with the second lawyer I had here which is why I decided to follow her to her new firm.

I am so grateful to Dustin and Lindsey at Spectrum. I had an urgent situation where I needed some paperwork updated and signed with a very short timeline. Lindsey was able to arrange this really quickly and Dustin was able to meet with me within a couple of days. He did a great job explaining things to me so even though my timeline was tight, I was sure of everything I was signing. Highly recommend.
