Divorce is never easy, especially in my case. My husband left and a week later, a pandemic hit. When I first went to Spectrum Family Law, I was devastated, confused, and riddled with the trauma of divorce. I needed someone to navigate the system with me and help me through a very complicated time and My lawyer, Manroop Chatha, did just that. She was very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. She listened to me, gave sound advice, and worked with me to get the settlement and divorce I deserved. She went the extra mile to make sure I was understanding everything and not importantly to me, she made sure I felt heard and safe.
Lawyer fees, court dates, paperwork, and the legality of it all can be very confusing. Anytime I was unsure of anything, Manroop and Kim at Spectrum Family Law would talk me through it. Although, I never want to work with a lawyer or go through this again because the process of divorce is incredibly challenging, but if I were to ever need the support again, I hope I have Spectrum Family Law and Manroop in my corner.

My lawyer Manroop chatha forgot to hand in some paperwork on my court date so it couldn’t be adjourned that day. Then I was made to have another court date that took around 2 hours and she then sent me a bill for over $4000 and that’s after I gave her an additional 2000$ retainer, that she made me pay in order to for her to attend my final hearing.

I then sent her an email saying how ludicrous it was for her to charge me that much for a 2 hour video call and that I didn’t authorize her to do anything else but attend the video court date that took around 2 hours.

She then sent me an email saying “sorry we are updating our billing system and we have a check here for you”.

All in all for the two hour video call she charged me over 1600$ even though it was her mistake. I also felt grossly overcharged. I would not recommend her or this firm to anyone I know.
