A great place to go if looking to adopt an animal in need of a good home. There are so many who pass through the shelter annually which is a troubling thought but at the same time it's comforting to know they are in the best care with the staff who dedicate their time to them while they wait for their forever homes.

I have nothing but good to say about the volunteers and staff who run the shelter. The process for adopting Digit was so smooth - they made sure he was well on his way before we had picked him up. He couldn't be happier in his new home. My partner and I have adopted 3 more cats since he has made his way into our home and we couldn't be happier!

In trying to support local businesses, it is convenient to have access to their Amazon wishlist and look at what is needed most for the shelter. We usually pick up the items here in the city after browsing their list. That way we elimite the wait time for getting the shelter items they need.

The SPCA Facebook and Instagram pages are also a great way to stay in the know for updates on animals, as well as fundraisers they hold. It's always a bonus to feel more involved in helping and the St. John's shelter provides a wealth of opportunity for that.

I have to say our experience with the SPCA St John's was amazing, they were really proactive. When we got there everyone was extremely friendly and we adopted Rocko the happiest and most loving extra large breed dog.
If your adopting a pet be sure to check them out.

A bit confusing for making an appointment, but we got our cat there and we're so happy we did. The staff is very helpful, and there are so many beautiful animals there that need homes. Please visit here if you are looking for an animal, or consider donating to support this wonderful organization.
