My child has been skating in pre-can skate since September and we are not satisfied with how the program has been run.

There are way too many children and not enough instructors and therefore not enough attention paid to each child. Also, the children are shuffled around to too many groups and many children don’t even know which group they are supposed to be in. There is no communication between the instructors and the parents to talk about improvements and feedback, there is no personal touch.

I have mentioned in the past that my child only “walks” when skating and this was focused on during the class I mentioned it, but hasn’t been focused on since.

We have requested a refund and waiting to hear back.

A fun and rigorous Canskate program. My daughter has been going to lessons here for two years and she loves it. Her skills have improved and she loves doing the chicken dance at the end of every session. She finds the classes to be lots of fun.

While the coaches are great, the club's board of directors doesn't support parents, and takes advantage of the parents during the pandemic, by cancelling/ shortening sessions without refund or credits for future use, and charging fees that were never agreed upon. And if you don't agree with those fees, they won't offer you anything else, but rather bully you into withdrawing from the program for another fee. Great work!

As a parent, I would not recommend this skating club. The quality of instruction is poor and classes are not well-organized. The skating instructors do not pay much attention to the learners and seem busy chatting with each other most of the time. They lack interest in teaching or motivating the learners. They charge a lot of money for such poorly organized classes.

This is a very well organized and great skating club in a beautiful old arena! The fees are reasonable and the instruction is excellent. All of our children learned to skate at Silver Blades and now our daughter is in figure skating. We could have picked a better skating club. Thank you.

After having a very negative experience at another skating school (where my 4 year old child, a complete novice, was totally left alone on the ice and not tended to or looked at once by the instructors in a beginners learn to skate class), I signed up our child at Silver Blades. There is a great ratio of instructors-to-students (2 instructors to 6 students, in our case), and this experience is luckily overriding the previous one, getting my child to want to learn to skate again.
