I do NOT recommend this firm. I hired Immi Sikand and paid her $5000 to obtain a permanent residence for my wife, who's a German citizen - a very straight forward application and service. While she obtained my wife's PR “status”, we did not receive my wife's PR card, and therefore my wife wasn’t able to enter Canada. Immi was fully aware that we are residing outside of Canada. I kept following up with Immi and was told that there are delays at IRCC. In one email Immi casually mentioned that my wife "must apply for a PR travel document, which can be filed online." That's all she said. Since my wife’s is a German passport holder, she has only ever been required to apply online for a ETA visa which comes out in 24 hours. We booked our tickets to Canada months in advanced and kept checking in with Immi about the PR card. We waited 10 months and the PR card never arrived. About 1 month before our travel I asked Immi about the PR travel document she had mentioned “can be filed online”. I then was shocked to learn that the PR Travel Document requires a lengthy application and 3-4 weeks to process (Immi never once mentioned this). She then charged us $1000 to apply for the PR travel document - I was desperate with time so i had no choice. Immi still assured us it was an online application and process only. After we applied, we found out that IRCC required a hard copy of my wife's passport to print a visa/PR travel document physically in her passport. Immi suddenly admitted her ignorance about the PR Travel Document process. She was also aware that there is no embassy in the city in which we reside. I had to urgently fly 1 hour and half away to submit my wife's passport and then again to pick it up weeks later. Long story short, we had to cancel our tickets, change our plans completely which cost us thousands of dollars and so much stress. Immi then tells us that when we arrive to Canada we have to reapply for my wife's PR card. Although i was very frustrated with her ignorance, lack of clarity, and lack of professionalism, I asked her to apply (because she has all of our information and she really owes). She replied saying it would cost $1200+ taxes! It's basically the exact same application for a PR Travel Doc which she did 2 weeks ago. When I tried to call her and verbally convey my shock, she was combative, defensive and she tried to gaslight me. She then told me to complain to the Ontario Lawyers Society if I wasn’t happy. I was shocked, to say the least. She's one of those lawyers that gives lawyers a bad name. She also lacks empathy. She caused my family so much financial loss and stress. I will be filling my complaint to the Ontario Law Society asap.
