It took me a while to write this review because I wanted to properly relay my experience with Romesh and his team. 5 stars isn't enough and sometimes words aren't either.

I am a lawyer who found myself in a situation that required me to retain a lawyer knowledgeable in the area of real estate litigation. Romesh has been recommended by many colleagues in the past, I have sent many of my clients to him as well, so hiring him was a no-brainer now that I found myself on the client side.

The gratitude I have for Romesh and his team go beyond what a review can encompass. They exceeded the standards of professionalism and competency. More importantly, they were compassionate and empathetic to the stress and anxiety I was facing. Romesh's disposition and personality was always calm and reassuring. He takes a logical, common-sense approach to his practice, and conducts himself with high morals and integrity. His entire team was always respectful and supportive. They worked TIRELESSLY to protect my interests and I always felt like they had my back.

In short, the right decision was made when I turned to Romesh for help. I don't know if I'd still be standing at the other end of this 'worst case scenario' if not for him. From the most sincere part of me... thank you, Romesh.

I used Signal in 2021 to perform a provincial incorporation for me. The process was complete in a couple days. Happy with their service.

Update Dec/2024: I used Signal to close my first home. Since I used them to incorporate a few years earlier, I thought I would use them again. As a new home-owner, I was learning everything for the first time, so I needed someone I could trust.
Sadly, I need to update my review to 2 stars due this experience. The main issues were:
- Disbursements and total fees were not disclosed until too late, in my case, 5 days before closing when it was too late to switch lawyers. Total fees were higher than expected and higher than other lawyers that I was referred to.
- Closing day was hectic. My mortgage broker was calm while Signal lawyers were panicking because funds from the bank were late to be deposited. I used a major bank (TD) so this should have been a very typical transaction, but Signal seemed very inexperienced and passed their stress on to me.
- Signal claimed my mortgage was a "white-label" mortgage which meant funds came from several different sources that complicated things and made it more difficult. I verified with my mortgage broker and TD that my mortgage was NOT a white-label mortgage. I believe this was a false claim made to justify their higher fees and the unnecessary stress that happened on closing day.
- I referred Signal to a friend who was buying a house at the same time I was and he had the exact same experience that I did, despite also using a major bank (BMO).
- After discussing the fees with Signal, they agreed to refund a reasonable amount to my friend and myself, but then they just disappeared before issuing the refund. Several emails have gone unanswered.

Despite a good first experience with Signal for my incorporation, our real estate experience has been poor. I do not recommend them for any real estate transactions. You are better off using MyClosing.ca or BayFrontLaw.ca for your real estate closures as they are much more transparent about their fees and have good reviews. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 simply because, at the end of the day, my house closed on the expected date.

First time using a lawyer for litigation. I wasn't sure what to expect but my hopes were high going in.
Romesh and his team are great, they made me feel like my problem was important to them.
I am happy and grateful for all the work and attention that was put into my case and the outcome.
I would recommend Romesh and his team without hesitation to family and friends.

Very poor. Ramesh is not an expert lawyer. Don't trust him. He was our lawyer and our payment was based on wining the court. When we lost the court he didn't even sent the court vote to us. He stopped responding our emails and our phones. How you can trust him.

We won't be able to close the property without Romesh and Cindy's help. Romesh is a hard working, knowledgeable and reliable lawyer. We had to deal with few obstacles along the way due to the fact it's a new builder and we were facing non responsive builder side lawyer. Romesh was always there when I called him and negotiated terms for us. He worked on this deal while he was on vacation and even draft an email while he was on the plane. Cindy worked overnight to make sure the property closes on time. She has a great work ethic. It's a great team. For all your real estate needs, you should hire signal lawyers.
