I reached out to this law firm to essentially file and close out my divorce. As normal procedure they requested a retainer and upon conversation with the lawyer it was expected to cover the costs. The lawyer used did a poor job of understanding my situation and in fact made many mistakes including filing a default in error, not understanding my income, and incorrect names used. After spending double the retainer amount, I challenged her to provide some legal strategy and to better understand my situation. At this point, she sent an email that she quit representing me and sent an email to the my ex's lawyer before I could explain the situation. She essentially charged me to dig me into a hole, and then quit leaving me in a worse spot than when I started. The value to work ratio was extremely bad and I would stay away.

Violeta is excellent, so accommodating, and quick to respond. Would recommend her to anyone wanting fantastic legal assistance in combination with a kind and reassuring presence. She goes above and beyond and genuinely looks out for the children involved in her cases. Kelly was so helpful and very quick to get back to me with a friendly disposition.

Review Title: Extremely Disappointed with Legal Services

I hired this law firm to help me with child support, which I have not received in the seven years since separating from my children's father. I thought the process would be straightforward, but six months later and $20,000 later, I found myself with no resolution in sight.

Eventually, I had to request them to stop the proceedings as I had run out of funds, with only about $500 left from my retainer. To my surprise, a few months later, I was informed that they had terminated my status as a client. Not only was there nothing left of my retainer after I asked them to cease all correspondence, but I also ended up with an additional bill.

I am utterly disappointed with how this law firm has prolonged a situation that should have been handled efficiently. It is disgusting to think about how much I paid for virtually no progress in my case. I would not recommend this firm to anyone seeking legal assistance.

Jivanya Reddy is a weak lawyer. I had her through legal aid. She did not fight for me. She was an over paid over glorified hand holder. I was going up against my abuser to get custody of my child and Jivanya did not fight for me or my child. She just took what my ex offered and settled, saying we weren’t going to get better than what he offered. She was not helpful in gathering the information I needed to do a financial disclosure for my ex. Then, after asking for help from her and her assistant, because I expressed that I didn’t think she was representing me properly, I was fired as a client. My disclosure is due in a couple of days and she didn’t even finish it. EVEN THOUGH by law she is still my lawyer for another ten days. I’ve been left to figure things out on my own. Jivanya did not fight for me. She didn’t speak on my behalf unless I told her this is our response. She was very timid in her work and didn’t represent me. My child is not in a good place where he is and instead of protecting my child by helping me have him removed from his abusive situation (like getting an emergency protection order for him, I was instructed to call child and family services by Jivanya. I truly feel that high conflict resolution is absolutely not where Jivanya needs to be practising. She needs something that’s not so aggressive as she is a mouse not a lion. I’m extremely disappointed in how I was represented and then fired for speaking up about what was going on. I think this is a joke. It’s awful that I’m still under the oppression of my abuser. At this point it would be easier to go back to his abuse than to try and fight him as he’s gotten everything he wanted anyway. I don’t recommend Jivanya at all. This is a terrible way to be treated. Especially because I’m a legal aid client. I deserve fair representation even though I’m not able to pay on my own. Being a legal aid client should not affect my representation and clearly Jivanya felt that it does.
