Such an awesome experience attending a court hearing as a public citizen in POCO Court this afternoon! This case is an appeal between landlord and tenant! It is so easy to witness the huge difference between how a hardworking barrister articulated her submissions with full confidence and solid agreements with well prepared professionalism versus the opposing party barrister who did not even remember clearly how his evidence has been prepared with weak articulation of agreements confusing the judge indeed. Special afternoon well spent with a lot to learn! 🙏🙏🤟🤟☀️☀️😍😍👍👍

Nice courthouse with great, helpful staff. Unfortunately, I’m giving it 1 star because of the judge in my speeding ticket trial.
From the moment I entered the courtroom, the judge asked me twice to speak with the police officer to make a deal, as if he wasn’t interested in going to trial at all. It was only Tuesday—not even the end of the week—so I’m not sure why he was in such a hurry.

I had my dash cam video, which is strong evidence showing that the police officer had clocked a different car (same model, color, and make) traveling in front of me. However, during the trial, the judge didn’t show any patience to review the video and immediately declared me guilty. Furthermore, the officer’s notes mention no other car in the vicinity (the same model as mine), but the officer conveniently skipped that part, especially after I had already shown the video before entering the court. He claimed it was the law to show him my argument. When I pointed out that the officer had skipped this detail, the judge said, “I’ve already made my decision.”

throughout the trial, the judge appeared heavily biased in favor of the officer. For example, when the officer claimed—without solid explanation—that he used two different speed measurement devices simultaneously (despite only holding a speed gun), the judge accepted it without hesitation. How can one operate two devices at once with only a 50-meter window?

The judge even mocked me while I was giving my statement when I mentioned "I always drive on speed limit", “What else do you expect me to say? I speed every day, and on that day I didn’t speed?” This behavior made me feel like I was being racially profiled, but I’m not sure.

Regardless, I’m going to appeal this decision. I believe there are better, less busy judges who understand their job and can make unbiased decisions based on the evidence.

Ps: forgot to mention names

Courthouse is nice building washrooms good neighborhood decent but too many H.A.'s 4 I counted, Hightops said hi, in the courthouse. My beef is my residence was sold to pay a court order the plaintiff was given his money by the court as was his lawyer but my share of the money is still being held I asked a number of times to get my money as soon as the shattered and broken whining crybaby shunned by all bar habitual got his and his fat immigrant lawyer it was only after the other two parties were given their money was I told I had to apply to get my money so why did the judges not tell me this earlier? Also why not give me the required paperwork to file when I am at the courthouse I had to sign a bunch of other paper work. What do you expect I guess from a system designed by lawyers who make their living practicing law? Other ppl have mentioned the huge delays on court days the only thing me and the judges and the fat, immigrant lawyer agreed on was the huge delays and all the judges had horror stories on time delays. I almost high fived the smiling fat, immigrant lawyer who has a legal gag order on me and a legal restraining order when we got out of court early on a sunny day.

I was terrified to come here, especially because of the bad reviews. Was getting really bad anxiety, first offence (speeding), expected the worst. Reality = everyone was really nice! Officer made deals with everyone prior, judge (female) was sympathetic to all and gave minimum payments

I won a claim against a defendant, but the court has enabled the defendant to keep stalling payment. She defies court orders to bring in financials so that a payment plan can be determined. In the meantime, she has voluntarily disolved her company now. I understand that they want to give defendants every possible chance, but in the meantime, they are supporting defendants at the victim's cost.
