I recently received a parking ticket on a Saturday for 'parking overnight in winter months,' even though it's clearly spring and there's no snow on the ground. The city also took down the no parking signs that were up for the winter on my street, adding to the confusion. Despite attempting to pay online twice, the system didn't work, and with city hall closed on weekends, it's impossible to resolve promptly. I cannot imagine older individuals who probably struggle with this confusing process. The lack of clarity regarding “winter months” and accessibility is unacceptable and needs improvement.

I found a plastic water bottle downtown full of used needles. This is absolutely unacceptable, just as we all know single use plastics contribute to climate change. As I stepped over several homeless drug addicts, and one overdose on my way to City Hall to pay my 3rd parking ticket in a few weeks, I had an idea. We need needle disposal facilities in parks, community centers, and playgrounds. We need to set an example for the younger generation that single use plastics are dangerous for the environment, and an unsustainable means to dispose of needles and opioids. Perhaps the City of North Bay should hire a dozen more parking bylaw revenue agents to collect more fees from tax payers shopping downtown to fund a sustainable needle, meth, opioid, and fentanyl upcycling facility. ♻️ 🌳 🏡

Keep those parking tickets coming! We need to drive shoppers away from the down town and towards online shopping which is more carbon neutral. Too many gas guzzling cars and employed people shopping downtown is just not healthy living!

Very frustrated that I can't park on the side of my street at all anymore, there are now signs on Front Street saying no parking, even during daytime hours or you'll get a ticket, why? ( And Yes, I'm aware you can't park on the side of the street all night during the winter because of snow plows but now you can't at all)

Edit: another issue with this city, I wait, way too long for the light to turn green at the Mulligan/Lakeshore intersection, I sat for 8 mins waiting for the light to turn green, absolutely ridiculous!

We parked in a handicapped zone rather than the commercial vehicle zone because of someone with a handicapped parking pass was in the commercial zone. Because it was our job to be there we had no choice but to park there. As we exit (20min max) there's the ticket guy writing us a ticket for 300$. We explain the situation and he replied with "I already wrote the ticket". Not a town I want to live in. Should have been a 50$ ticket max. The city should be working to make our lives better rather than work against us, especially when the meter system is causing more money than making.

Sad when the city can’t afford real cold patch so they just toss gravel in the holes and let cars pack it down. Good job bilaw next rock in my window you will be replacing.

Mean girls/boys club that struggles with professionalism and following the law. Parking lot attendant is over vigilant, which made me uncomfortable. North Bay deserves better.

Staff are nice but we spend more money on city hall and other stupidity than we do our roads and sidewalks.

want to visit downtown but we are seniors who are afraid of all the homeless people hanging around the area, we have been hassled and fingers pushed into us asking for money and cigarettes why doesn't the city send them back to where they came from quit giving them free food and shelter and clothes, they have it better than residents here, maybe the city should help the people from here first
