It is amazing to talk to somebody like Gary. No respect. Treat you like a criminal. All four times I spoke to him, he over talked me with stiff and authoritative tone. Do you know how to give people respect? No BBB accredited. Don't trust this company.
I rented a car when I was in Florence, Italy in 2023 April. Six months later, I received a fine ticket from Florence. After checking if it was legitimate ticket, I paid in full about $350. Then I received another letter looked identical. Same place same date.
Then now in April 2025, I received a rude phone call from NRC, saying I owe them money. I told Gary that I paid already in full. He said I still need to pay. I needed to research if it’s even a legitimate company. Originally he didn’t provide any specific information or proof of the legit claims. I requested a couple of times to send me a proof. He kept calling me for paying asap, threatened me for it would affect your credit score. Not many people on the earth have a job to get paid by threatening people.

This company continues to violate Section 114 of the Canada Consumer Protection Act with protects consumers from deceptive practices, including inflated costs and knowingly extortionate demands for payment. National Revocery Corp is a company that works for scam artists who falsely bill consumers for no products, no services rendered.

I had an unfortunate encounter with National Recovery Corp, which I strongly believe is involved in dishonest practices. In 2017, while traveling in Europe and renting a local car, I received a parking ticket in a small town in Italy. Before leaving Italy and returning to Canada, I had ensured that this ticket was properly addressed, and any additional charges were settled through the credit card information I provided. However, six years later, I received a call from this so-called "recovery" company claiming that I had not paid the fine, and the local government had authorized them to collect the debt.

I am appalled by their shameless and deceitful actions. It's evident to me that my personal information was compromised during that time in Italy, as there is no other plausible explanation for how this dubious company got a hold of my details. Their attempt to coerce me into paying the fine again, years after it had already been resolved, is a clear scam.

If it weren't for my meticulous habit of keeping records of all my travel expenses, I might have fallen victim to their deceitful tactics. National Recovery Corp is nothing but a bunch of unscrupulous fraudsters preying on unsuspecting individuals who may not have kept thorough records of their past transactions.

I strongly condemn such unethical behavior and urge anyone who receives a call from this company to exercise caution. Do not be intimidated by their false claims and threats. It is crucial to verify the legitimacy of such claims and consult with the relevant authorities or legal experts if necessary.

An old landlord sent this company a bogus invoice and the employees at NRC are not smart! Do not pay these people unless they follow the proper protocols! They need to tell you WHO WHAT WHY they are collecting debts for and they can’t because most of the debts are illegitimate! They have been threatening my credit and immigration status for almost a year and so far they can do NOTHING because the invoices are bogus. If you were a tenant at Accommod8u, do NOT listen to these people and do NOT pay.
Also FYI they legally cannot contact you after you asked them to stop. If they continue to do so, start a case against them with consumer protection Ontario. There are strict protocols that debt collectors have to follow and NRC doesn’t because they are a scam!

I'm convinced this is a scam and they send threatening debt collections letters to anyone and everyone they can possibly target, particularly if you've had your SIN or identity compromised in the past. The letter stated I owed them money and they couldn't even tell me WHY I owed this money and WHO had reported me to them cos frankly the "person" I owe it to doesn't exist!!! I check my credit history every year and it is PERFECT. Seriously how are these scammers even legally allowed to stay in business. Oh and I'm just loving the fake positive glowing reviews posted here....you're fooling no one. 🙄
People, DO YOUR RESEARCH on this agency online before handing your money over to them!! Lots of shady behaviour has been reported by other people. Go to a legitimate source. You most definitely don't owe them any money if you have no knowledge of debt you owe.

We have been working with NRC for several months. The matters are handled professionally and quickly. I can't report any difficulties. Of course, it would be more pleasant not to have to hire that kind of company; but they try to help in a friendly but firm manner.

Accommod8u pays them to collect unreasonable charges. ANYONE living with ACCOMMOD8U needs to be aware! They literally are asking for 1365 for damages I didn't do. I slept 2 years on a dirty mattress without knowing cuz I never lifted the cover (the cover is kept clean throughout), and they are also asking for very faint water marks and tiny chips in the walls and all that amount to this huge amount 1365. Accommod8u doesn't go through Landlord and Tenant Board but directly go to the collector company that send these emails to students and call students. I believe I read somewhere that there could be rebate for collector company if they somehow managed to get the money for the landlord. But all in all, I called consumer protection agency, and the BEST thing you can do is to:
1. dispute the debt (communicate with landlord to gather evidence and look up LTB section); show the evidence and legal support (consult lawyer too)
2. ask them to cease contacting
3. Suggest matter to be taken to court
4. Since the debt is being disputed, this should not be reported to credit bureau

This company continues to call my phone for SOMEONE ELSE consistently. If they continue to harass me I'll be getting the police involved. I'm going to block their number from phoning me soon. The person they are trying to get a hold of is my EX BOYFRIEND ; this is NOT his phone. And two) he is currently in bankruptcy working with a bankruptcy trustee. Good luck getting blood from a stone. I would suggest no one deal with company. They are extremely rude. And if it were my debt (it isn't) but IF it were - I wouldn't be giving them a single penny.
