My mother was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver in 2020. I have yet to receive a check from Erika Hachey. I did not agree with the fees but signed all necessary documents to release my check. It has been months and no check. I called to find out and she told me because I didnt like the fees I would have to call The Law society. What?!!! So, I ask for the number and she told me find it myself. In the same breath said, she thinks the world of me. What?!! I dont know how they do law in New Brunswick Canada but this would not fly helsewhere.
Erika Hachey called me 1 time in 3 years. I continually reached out to her via emails, phone calls and in person visits each Summer while in N.B. She made zero effort to reciprocate and failed to mention she was holding my check indefinitely.
It is obvious she was neglectful with my case. Her fees are not in tune with the work done on the case. I should mention I likely didnt need a lawyer but It would have been too difficult to deal with while in USA.
The outrage is she is using my check to teach me a lesson I guess or use financial leverage over me to make things difficult. This is unacceptable behavior by a "professional".
I have no recourse to collect my check but to call the Law Society.
I would not use this law practice, very corrupt and abusive.
