I am a retired 70 year old man. My wife is 48 and a assistant manager at her job. She makes $80,000.00 a year. My wife and I separated in 2015. My lawyer was Patrick Smith. I worked with Patrick for almost 3 years. Everything Patrick did for me was a complete waste of time and money. We have properties in Canada and Philippines. The properties in the Philippines have no debt. I have been maintaining all the debt in Canada. In Sept. At Patrick guidence. An application was submit to the court for interm support to help pay the debt on the Canadian properties. The Justuses dismissed the application on the ground of insufishent evidents. I now have to pay court cost to my wife. After the case was dismissed I was not able contact Patrick. I phoned and emailed him many times. With no response. After almost 2 months. I decided to contact the firm to see if I could have my case transfered to another lawyer. Only then did Patrick phone me. His response was that I should come and pickup my file. He would not aloue me to speak with one of the partners of the firm. I have spent most of my saving and an inharitence maintaining all the debt. There are also other issues related to Patrick. He has a bad temper. I think he should take an anger management course. The first time we went before the court Patrick. Studup in court and told the justice he had to go. Because he had not paid for suffient amount for packing for his car. He was worried his car would be towed. I was completely stund by his action.He was worried about his car more then my case. I have been married before and had lawyers in the past. I do have an idea of a good lawyer. I have concluded Patrick is the worst lawyer I have ever encountered. I referred clients of mine to Helen Werbicki of Morrison LLP back in May for their closing at the end of August. My clients were 1st time homebuyers and with the extended timeframe between purchase & possession, I knew they would require some extra hand holding....that's a lot of time for fears and worries to rear their heads. Helen responded immediately to my clients and communicated clearly and efficiently with both them and myself over the next 3 1/2 months, helping to keep these nervous buyers calm & confident. This was a new construction build and so required some extra work on Helen's end. Despite my follow up, our chosen lender was slow to send instructions putting Helen in a bit of a time crunch. Not only did the client's purchase close on time, but they were none the wiser that there had been any delay! They sang Helen's praises and so do I.
