Divorce can be difficult and painful, and certainly something most people don't plan on going through in their lives. Curtis Ready handled my, at times, very convoluted divorce (spouse refused to get a lawyer) with professionalism, calm and empathy. Unfortunately things did not go as anticipated, as by the third meeting together with Marla Miller, I very much felt like she was not unbiased. There were several comments made during our meetings that very much made me feel as though she was on my ex-husband's side. My concerns were not considered and I felt uncomfortable with the proposal she set forward. It was unfortunate we were unable to come to an agreement using mediation, as doing things with separate lawyers has not been easy or financially affordable.

The reason I chose Curtis Ready initially was because he seemed calm, claimed to have 12 years experience in family law, and some of these reviews. I was going through a custody dispute with my ex. The other side wasn’t afraid to play dirty, lie and play games. Curtis did not want to do these things. Some may see this as a good thing but when the other side does it and gets away with it and it benefits them in the AB family courts ..why not. Curtis missed many important things and did not seem fully invested in my case at all. I invested 4 years and $120K plus missed time with my family and from work in this dispute. It all comes down to the judge and how well your lawyer knows his/her stuff. Get a better lawyer who has the time for you and it actually hurts them to lose, instead of losing your kids in court then turning around with a smile, saying well that’s how it goes.
