If I could give zero stars, I would.

Building in the Municipality of Meaford has been one of the most frustrating and disheartening experiences of my life. What should have been a straightforward process turned into months of unnecessary delays, excessive water bills before my line was even connected, and contractors doing work wrong without proper oversight.

The Municipality dragged its feet at every step — until I had to involve the Ontario Ombudsman to get things moving. Only then did approvals start to happen in a reasonable time.

This process has cost me enormous amounts of time, money, and stress. I’ve invested heavily into Meaford, opening a business, building a home, bringing jobs into the community and yet I was met with constant roadblocks instead of support.

I will never build here again. Meaford needs to take a serious look at how it treats residents and small businesses if it wants people to invest in this town.

It’s disappointing to see how disorganized and uncooperative the Town of Meaford can be when it comes to supporting many small businesses and residents. Rather than encouraging growth and community development, it often feels like the municipality is more focused on creating roadblocks and wasting time . There seems to be a lack of respect for proper process, and those trying to build or invest in the area are often met with unnecessary challenges and delays.

A town’s administration should be working with its people—not against them. Meaford has great potential, but it desperately needs more competent, supportive, and forward-thinking leadership to help it thrive instead of stifling progress.

Meaford Library is a small place, but lovely place. Very friendly staff, especially in the children's section on the lower level. I take my grand nephew there when he visits from Brampton. He always has fun & asks to go back each time he's here. Lots of activities for kids on a rainy day. They have a Halloween costume exchange program every year. You donate costumes your kids have grown out of & can get another costume. Check out their website to find many activities for all ages. Great place to go if you just need a quiet spot to read or use the computer. This library has that nice small town atmosphere with staff that greet you as if you are a friend coming to visit. Almost forgot, they have a bin in the hallway where you can drop off used batteries to be disposed of safely. Great for the environment 😃
