I ported a mortgage in October 2023 and was referred to McCuaig by my realtor. The process seemed straight forward and everyone I dealt with was friendly.
Fast forward to May 2024 when I had to renew my mortgage. I was switching lenders and they agreed to use thier legal team to do the transaction free of charge. Upon them reviewing everything they came across a line of credit against the property in the previous owners name. At this point my lenders team would not do the legal documents for me and suggested I use my previous lawyer as this should have been rectified when I purchased the house.
Back to McCuaig I go. At my own expense now. I explain the situation and everything seems to get done. ( During the process I received someone else's documents which I promptly deleted). I pay and luckily my lender reimbursed me some of the cost.
About 2 months ago I received a deposit from McCuaig in my bank account and an email with some documents that had my name but not correct information on the property. I was reassured that it was an adjustment payment and I was entitled to it.

Today I got an email saying I owe them 400 dollars because they forgot to charge me for title insurance 6 months ago. Overall not a great experience. Cost me extra money and headache.
