Paul Govenlock from Long Family Group - Beware of this lawyer!! He is honestly the worst family lawyer/ advocate out there. He claims to do collaborative approach but he actually does not know what he is doing. He wasted over $8000 of my retainer. He does not take the advice of the appointed or chosen therapist but instead makes his own decisions, acting like a judge and then states that he’s helping and understands his clients when he does the complete opposite. He is ok with the other party breaching a parenting order and not following the law. This lawyer is biased and unprofessional and should get disbarred. He got in the way of my mediation with a psychologist and goes way above his limitations. He is an awful lawyer and if you get him through legal aid please change lawyers. All he does is take Legal Aid certificates, and prolongs your case. Does not get updates on your child when that is his job!

Linda has been an active and helpful force for the family law bar in Edmonton for decades, and her thoughtful and client centered approach has infused the firm and the other lawyers. I have had Collaborate or litigation files with Linda, Bruce, Mark, Paul and Kimberley and found them all to be zealous advocates for their clients, and yet still practical and solution focused. Beware of overly litigious lawyers who focus on "winning" at all costs. You won't find those lawyers at Long Family Law. You will find lawyers who recognize listening and exploring different solutions, and who will get the job done better, faster, and cheaper.
