First of all, I resolved everything with my former company, and I am very happy with the result. Despite the long hours and hard effort I put in, I felt taken advantage of and undervalued, so I was happy to approach Mr. Kania for advice. I ended up with a new employment.

I have had Andrew as my lawyer now for almost five and a half years. Andrew and his law clerk Leanne have been patient, curtious and extremely professional. I can at times be a difficult client but Andrew has been firm and fair with me at all times and always takes the time to ensure he explains everything in detail if I don't fully understand. I would highly recommend Andrew and his team any day of the week.

I used this law firm about 6 years ago and let me tell you. I paid for a separation agreement that took two years before I said enough was enough. I remember going into the mediation meeting with the x wife's lawyer and office, it was like the professional and not professional. My representative did not say a word and I was embarrassed so much so that i fired them the next day. Went to another firm 6 weeks later all was settled. All that wasted money for nothing and nobody ever said hey this is taking too long and why would they as long as I paid. Guess I was the fool thinking I had the best. Stay away even the way they answer the phone. Kania Lawyers slammed into hold pattern. Very unprofessional.

Retained a lawyer with this firm for family law purposes. I liked my lawyer as far as her knowledge and personality are concerned. I liked her law clerk on a personal level. The reasons for my low rating is as follows:

- upon speaking with the law clerk was rapidly given a list of documents to bring to my appointment. Extremely overwhelming and so much potential for error. Emailing a list, not rushing, or advising to view 13.1 for requirements would have been far more customer service oriented.

- provided everything needed at initial appt with lawyer. Answered all questions. Upon lawyers suggestion agreed to letter to spouse, which wasn't needed, just didn't want to go against lawyers suggestions. Letter was rec'd with numerous errors, only one of which was my doing. Statement was received from lawyer charging for letter and for correction of errors that were result of miscommunication between lawyer and law clerk and law clerk not understanding how to read lawyer firm forms.

- phoned lawyer and advised spouses lawyer would be writing separation agreement and was charged when lawyer wrote a letter to me to advise me spouses lawyer would be writing separation agreement after I'd already advised of same.

- when contact was made to say no more letters due to costs and stress of inaccuracy was told "this law firm writes letters".

- documents were received with numerous errors, some of which a simple check could have caught, daily back and forth via email to correct errors, documents were received with only partial corrections. Highly stressful and expensive experience.

- advice given wasn't concurrent with information given at initial appt. To me consult notes so relevant advice can be given and so client doesn't need to repeat reasons for decisions.

- 13.1 needed some corrections prior to signing and updated 13.1 wasn't sent to client. Afraid to ask for amended 13.1 due to previous experience so will get photocopy from spouse.

- when first appointment was attended was given package to have will written. Emailed estate lawyer asking rates because rates in the package were not current. No answer. Phoned law firm and was directed to lawyers clerk. Left message. No call back. Phoned a 3rd time, was told clerk was on phone, started to tell receptionist I would like to hold since I didn't receive a call back previously, was cut off by receptionist (2nd time this happened) before I could complete my request. Left message, no call back.

This could be an exceptional law firm if they were more flexible, attentive, conscientious and customer service focused.
