Very bad. Would not recommend. This man screwed up my family court case. Although he claims he doesn’t do family law he was my family law lawyer and my criminal lawyer. I had drug charges that he wanted to take to trial when there was 3 confidential informants who all lied. (pretty sure he was one of them being ex undercover drug squad) fired him and hired Kendra Stanyon who wrote a letter to the crown and had all charges dropped. I hired Hassan law for family court matter and got sole Custody of my children. He also had collection agencies coming after me for outstanding fees without an order from the courts to do so. (Illegal)

I want to share my experience with this place it happened in year 2018 he was helping my ex for separation agreement my ex wanted to divorce asap she said he said in order to do that we should separate at least 3 years had of time than he gives my ex an idea we have been separate 2013 because I don't what she wants to do about I didn't say anything so he writes down 2013 first we do it 50 50 agreement than beginning of 2019 we have divorced but my wants to make changes so his keep helping her about it 50 50 she can't get any child sport from me so he made changes to 70 30 than payments can't get approved because my income too low than he used my earlier income tax information 2017 I was still married and together that time than she asked more changes because payments too low than asking more changes because she needs to get paid at least 800 a month so she get approved for a mortgage than he added something else like spacial something so she can get approved for mortgage loans he didn't warrant us this is against the law so I didn't have any ideas about I signed it than I found out it was against to laws but too late anyway because he used my 2017 income information nor the correct one my income s getting worse every year because of my health issues and I still have to pay something I can't afford it before I didn't want to do this review because he was a cop I am kinda scared from cops. If you do not what about your signature on papers?

This is the same James Dean who was at another firm a decade ago...
If it were possible to give zero or less as a rating, that's what I would give.

When I met James, he was quick with our meetings. We had 2, once in the office, which was possibly, maybe, 45 minutes. And the day of my court case was going to trial. That day he saw me for about 7 minutes, and told me he pretty much could not help. I was already in the court room waiting for him to defend me!

So! He took my $, and had me plead guilty to things I honestly didn't do. I had witnesses to prove it. The judge literally laughed at the charges against me and said he honestly could not see me doing the things that had been claimed by the person pressing the charges. The judge then asked if I was sure that I wanted to plead guilty. I felt I had no choice!! Because James was not even in the courtroom by then.

He did not have time to support me in the court room that day. Nor did he bother speaking to my witnesses. I was scared, so I did plead guilty. On his "advice".

I tried MULTIPLE TIMES over the next
2-3 of years to get any sort of reciept, or paperwork, or anything at all from his office for the thousands of dollars I gave him to take my case...
To help me...

I NEVER even got a phone call back! Likely because they did not have ANYTHING about me, or my case to share with me. I honestly believe he took the $$ and just left me to hang.

I hope for anyone who is looking for his "help" has substantially!!! Better luck than I had with him. Hopefully he will be a better person for you. Maybe even care about how your life will be affected by your case. It seemed as if it made no difference to him how my life would go
after.

Odd not one person has seen this other than myself. And it was posted quite some time ago. (Yet the only other review I have ever done was in late September of 2023 and it has over 50 views!)
And when you search the lowest ratings, it does not show up in the reviews, go figure.

Is there a statute of limitations for leaving a review?

I had let it go many years ago. I stopped TRYING to contact you! (many may times as I had said.) I quit calling your office, asking for my receipt and information, stopped coming in person and you weren't available. No one could get my file, or make up a receipt. After leaving many voice mail messages. (Email wasn't really a communication mechanism for me, so I admit, there were no email attempts.)

Nothing... And so I gave up. That building is now gone, it housed the law firm I actually called to hire, so how did I get you as my counsel if you weren't linked to them in some way?

I have more respect for myself now, and found my voice. (Not having those were part of why I needed help then.) So when I happened upon your page, I used my experience to post a review. And it popped up in my email about a year later along with the only other review I've ever done. So I looked, and noticed nothing activity wise. Strange, because other reviews had been active somehow. (Nor had you responded until I edited it later.)

There's a lot I could say here. However I'll just ask this.
If I want my case information now, ask for my receipt. Would/could it be provided? Can I get my file, and a receipt for my monies paid for hiring you back then, finally?

If you can answer yes. I'll contact you. If not, it would be pointless again.

Jim Dean originally helped us put together our Will. He is such a chill, laid back guy who has a really unique background of experience that in our opinion, makes him really great at what he does.
