Horrible I went to her because her price seemed reasonable but I guess you get what you pay for I have to be completely honest my case is extremely difficult in it's own right but she is beyond rude and insulting our first initial meeting went well but beyond that it just went left all she did is berate Me through the phone yell at then tell me we've wasted hours and couldn't do any documents she tried dumping me as a client the day before my first court date I threatened to go to the bar association on her she never brought it up but I believe this scared her so she did show up for the first zoom date. I think as a lawyer you have an ethical obligation not to take on a case accept a retainer from someone on a case you believe is unwinnable or have personal reservations about the individuals behavior or conduct not take the $ then later recuse yourself but it seems as if I am not the only person to have a bad experience with this Women. When I spoke to legal aid and mentioned her name and the troubles I was having with her he wouldn't outright disparage her as that is not proper conduct from another lawyer but he did chuckle and hint theirs a reason her legal aid was taken away get your $ right and retain better counsel.

The best ways i can describe our experience with Jane begin with "in". Inept, inefficient, ineffective, insulting, intolerable.
Asked for the same details many times. Chronically disorganized and truly unable to discuss anything at the appropriate time.
She was insulting and rude to my wife and then had the temerity to tell me how one speaks with a lawyer, as if she isn't a contracted service provider. Avoid her, your money and time is best spent elsewhere.
She is, unfortunately, a lawyer. In much the same way as McDonald's is, unfortunately a restaurant: perhaps convenient, lower cost, but ultimately not a satisfactory service

Terrible lawyer

I called this morning and laid out my case in detail to this woman. During the call she seemed very disorganized and very dismissive.

I am well aware the not all lawyers are willing to take on every case, however she was asking questions and then in the middle of it all she said and Iquote " I cant help you, I'm very busy the morning" then hung up!

As a businessman this is a terrible way to treat potential clients.

Sadly, in my personal experience I found Ms. McKenzie to be most unprofessional, inept, rude and offensive. She demonstrated a level of incompetence that I found quite shocking to her profession. Repeatedly she demonstrated that she was unprepared for scheduled appointments, necessitating frequently covering ground previously covered numerous times before. This disorganization and unpreparedness, is suffered of course, at the expense of her clients, both in terms of much wasted time and financial costs.
In my case, I suffered the loss of thousands of dollars, and received absolutely no benefit to the resolution of my legal matter. I have been forced to start all over again with another attorney. I would strongly urge anyone considering retaining Ms. McKenzie's services to give careful consideration before doing so. Ms McKenzie should come under the careful scrutiny of the Law Society of Upper Canada, if she hasn't yet.
