Hired Haiyan Zhang for a will in Dec 2024, paid a $1,000 retainer. After a disorganized meeting (delayed, interrupted, mostly off-topic) and a draft, she refused to review a requested deed and stopped responding—even her clerk wouldn’t relay messages. Terminated her services Feb 11, 2025, and requested a refund, but no reply, no resolution behavior. Unprofessional and unresponsive. Hoping she’ll address this reasonably to avoid further steps.

We had HZ Law to represent us to close our new property purchase. It was a process which showcased her professionalism and dedication to clients. First, her assistant Bo was always available by email and by phone, and was very responsive to any inquiries. Lawyer Zhang was very patient in explaining terms and jargons in plain language to make it easily understood by us, and she made sure we understood what we signed. Second, her ability to resolve unexpected. On the closing day, a technical glitch occurred which the bank said they released the mortgage, but the mortgage release did not appear on the central system that her firm used. Unable to close. She immediately negotiated with the vendor's lawyer to get one day extension with no penalty to us while the Bank sorted out the glitch. It was back and forth with tens of phone calls, emails and coordination. Sure enough, the glitch was resolved at 4pm, and the closing was finalized in the next day. The process was nerve-wrenching to us, but with their dedication, we got the keys with no extra cost or penalty. Definitely recommend her especially now with the busy closings which might cause unexpected turns of events.
