I have used horseshoe taxes for many years and have been completely satisfied with what I consider a very daunting task - my income taxes. Front staff are very welcoming and detail oriented, which takes away some of your anxiety. I thoroughly recommend!

In reply to the owner's recent comment: my return was completed by your business last year and nothing was owed and we had no outstanding balance! We did NOT thank Lorraine for her exceptional service, as she was not courteous, made several mistakes and forgot to ask for certain paperwork upfront. The other lady at the reception who stated that she was new with the business was very polite and professional, so my comment is not a reflection of her service. Please show us the proof that Lorraine responded to ANY of our emails, and I will be happy to provide the evidence that she did not. I also had to make several trips to your office to drop off some paperwork, after being told by Lorraine they were not required. I have been at your location and overheard other patrons complaint directly to you that their paperwork had been lost or misplaced - Please learn how to take feedback to improve your business, rather than the usual combativeness which will result in you losing clients!

I regret to say that my recent experience with them has been disappointing and frustrating. Despite being a returning customer, I found the service to be very disorganized and lacking in professionalism.

One of the main issues I encountered was the lack of clarity regarding the turnaround time for my tax filings. When I inquired about this, the accountant (Melissa) responded with an attitude, making me feel as though I was not entitled to ask questions. Her exact answer at the time was: "Well, it's not in the bucket yet, so I can't assess it if it's not in the bucket!" - This attitude persisted even after I had already provided a $50 deposit to have my taxes filed.

Additionally, communication with the firm was severely lacking. They were consistently slow to respond to emails and phone calls, which only added to the frustration of the situation.

Moreover, I found there to be numerous contradictions in the information provided by the firm, leading to further confusion and dissatisfaction with the service provided. Overall, I would describe my experience as one of horrible service.

I also want to note that there used to be a staff member who provided exceptional service. Unfortunately, I have not seen her in a while, and the current service desk attendee (Lorraine) does not meet the same standard.

It's disappointing to see such a decline in service quality from a firm that I had previously relied on. This will, unfortunately, be my last time utilizing their services.

They always answer questions and concerns as soon as they are brought up and although I feel communication could be a bit better as I am still waiting on a refile as fhsa contribution was missed I understand it takes time and tax season is very busy. Lorraine was and always has been very kind and courteous and understand and I will continue to use these amazing ladies in the future

I have been coming to HorseShoe tax for over 5 years now and I have NEVER had an issue. From what I do know about Melissa, her staff and business is that during tax time is an INSANELY busy time. I applaud Melissa and her staff for keeping such a professional atmosphere and office. Every time I have come into the office I am greeted with nothing but smiles and friendly greetings. I am here reading some of the reviews some people have posted and wonder if any of them have a job/career and have ever been faced with days so long and busy that they find themselves completely exhausted at the end of the day from working so hard to keep clients or bosses happy? I am wondering to myself why it is that people are complaining at the time it takes to do a tax return in the middle of tax time when thousands of people across Ontario are filing income tax all at the same general time and wanting it back within a day or two. Anytime I have ever called Melissa or her office the staff has been very pleasant and gotten back to me with any answers within a day or two. Regardless of some of these negative reviews I have to say keep up the good work ladies I myself and PLENTY of your other clients love you and think your doing a fantastic job as always!

This place & it's owner are very disorganized and unprofessional! She treats her employees like trash and then has the nerve to blame everything on them.

NEWS FLASH MELISSA - If your employees are making errors, that reflects poorly on YOU and your lack of training.

As for the actual business, she knowingly files her clients' taxes late, ignores phone calls, misplaces clients forms and files.

BEWARE you will be audited if you file with them!!

Melissa has always gone above and beyond for me and my family, we've been getting our taxes done by her for over 10 years! Thank you Melissa!

Seeing all these comments from the past few weeks has really disturbed me , this is not the time to attack a small business! Yes it took longer this year to get our taxes done, but the entire world is in a pandemic, everything is taking longer! We waited 6 months for our couch to be delivered and were originally promised a month. I'd rather wait a few extra weeks, or days, to have my taxes done correctly and satisfactory, than rushed and have mistakes made or things missed!

Melissa is very rude & not good at returning messages. I think she's gotten too big for her britches. Also whoever she handed my taxes off to didn't know what they were doing as on more than 1 occasion when they did my taxes I got re-accessed by CRA & they came to a completely different conclusion than horseshoe tax. Incompetence at its finest.

Yes unfortunately I do know from working there that she is not as professional as she indicates. Files are left in the open and not secured when not working on. Files are piled everywhere and still are since I left many years ago. Turnaround time is rarely as promised and then she complains about her clients to the staff. In the summer of 2022 a good friend of mine had her file lost and her documents misplaced in the office?!?!
