Communication with Mary-Ellen is almost impossible.
Emailed her 3 times no answer, left a voice message to her voice mail: no answer, left a message to the reception yet still no answer. It has been over a month yet she has not got back to me.

My first experience was satisfactory but the second (which will be the last) is very disappointing.

I wouldn't use their services if they are not bothering to answer an email or return your call.

My grandmother just had a real estate purchase with this law firm and the paralegal, Mary Ellen, was an absolute nightmare. Our closing cheque sat on her desk for two days because she had an “appointment”. No sense of urgency for this closing on time whatsoever. I would not recommend this law firm if you want your deal dealt with reliably. Maybe only if you like getting ignored and hung up on

I found Jonathan with Healey Law online and retained his services right away. After meeting with him, I knew I would be in the right hands with my legal matter. Him and Tara were always there for me every step of the way throughout my difficult divorce that was dragged out unnecessarily by the other side which was no fault of theirs.
They provided prompt and courteous service. Always an email or phone call away. And if I had to leave a message, I received a reply back very quickly.
If I ever require their legal services again, which I hope I don't cause I don't want to get divorced again 😉 the next time I am to marry, it will be the RIGHT person, I would recommend them in a heart beat.
Thank you again for everything you did.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could 🙂

Very disappointed with this law firm because everyone was very kind, however every thing else fell extremely short from me from beginning to end.
- I paid over $5000 for an amicable divorce, no children, and assets already figured out on our own.
- The first day I went into the office, the paper work had someone else’s name on it that wasn’t my ex-husband.
- multiple invoices needed correcting as they added charges for services I did not get.
- I opened my file in 2020 and it took until 2023 to get it all finalized.
- Lastly, last week I got another charge on my credit card from this law firm to “settle their accounts receivable” even though I haven’t been a client since last year.

Going through a divorce is hard on its own and working with this law firm made it even worse unfortunately.

I feel compelled to post the facts about my disappointing, disrespectful, and unnecessarily stressful condo sale experience with Healey Law.

1) after making an appointment by email to sign documents for 9am on a Friday morning, the real estate conveyancer, Mary-Ellen, was a total no show. There was no phone call or email to reschedule, and absolutely no record of our appointment when we arrived at the office. In fact, we were made to feel like we had the date wrong and were asked by another legal assistant to show the email, as if I was making it up. It was ridiculous. We would have gone with another law firm altogether at that point except that I was too busy between moving out of the sold condo, and medical tests at the Cross Cancer.

2) I got a call from the conveyancer saying she couldn't find the condo on the condo document website to order the Estoppel certificate from the Property Management company. I told her how to spell the building's name and she found it, i wish i was kidding.

She ordered the Estoppel certifcate late (she had weeks to put the order in) which resulted in unecessary per diem interest charges for the pay out of the mortgage because the closing day was delayed causing stress and confusion for everyone involved. The closing was delayed 2 days and would have been delayed longer except that the Realtor called and convinced the Property Management Company to provide the Estoppel certificate.

3) a signed amendment regarding the amount of commission payable to the real estate brokerage was essentially ignored by the conveyancer, resulting in an overpayment of over $3300 from the proceeds of the sale to the real estate brokerage. Zero effort was made by the conveyancer to take action to correct the overpayment, and the lawyer himself was nowhere to be found (on vacation) with regard to addressing the commission payment overpayment to the real estate brokerage. If you can believe, I myself had to follow up with the back office of the real estate brokerage to have the overpayment sent back to the lawyer's office electronically, and then a draft issued for reimbursement of the overpayment.

The very poor treatment I received was inexplicable and the stress the mistakes caused on top of various tests at the Cross Cancer, was very ill-timed.

I cannot recommend the real estate services of this firm based on my experience. It would seem the conveyancer was completely overwhelmed with deals and simple things fell through the cracks costing the client money. This condo sale should have been a straight forward matter of receiving and disbursing the proceeds from the sale of the property.

The mistakes/oversights caused me and the other parties unnecessary stress. I should have received a $300 "DIY" discount for having to sort out the repayment of the overpaid funds myself. It was Ridiculous.
