Paula is an excellent lawyer. She explained the legal terms to me with patience.
She is not one of those lawyers that pretend to be making $450/hr every minute of the day and night. And act like you are somehow wasting their time simply by talking. Even when you are paying them for that time.

Please do not use this firm. Quick to get you in when they want your money.

6 months and counting for them to refund me for an overage they charged me, just in case.... land titles monies was needed.
Send me my land title, still no refund.
Several emails stating sorry its coming in a few weeks...

updated. Money in account and email from lawyer( who does respond, actually) same day I wrote this. Coincidence Only they will know…

I have been dealing with Jim since 2016 and I have had nothing but great experiences working with him and staff members (including Brandi, Lori, and Savannah). Jim is absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable, experienced, accommodating, and supportive. He is always responsive and willing to help in the most stressful situations. I recall back in 2016 when I was really worried about a mortgage specialist not getting back to me in time before closing for a BC property and Jim’s office was the most helpful in getting answers and documents completed by the mortgage specialist. Also, just recently, even though it isn’t in their normal scope of business, Jim was ever so gracious in helping me resolve an issue with our HOA. He took the time himself to reach out and help us settle on a reasonable outcome. I‘m so grateful to have been referred to Jim’s office and I go to Jim for all my real estate transactions and will. Him and his office are definitely one that you can trust and rely on. I can’t imagine working with anyone else. Thank you for everything!

We used Hassett and Reid for a land purchase back last spring. Everything seemed great as we were preparing to sign documents and they were very responsive to any questions we had. After we completed the transaction and we had paid though, we couldn’t get a simple response to an email. We received a land titles form a few month later declaring an interest in the land due to a covenant and we were just curious if it was normal and to be expected, or something to be concerned about – basically a yes or no answer. We never received any reply after sending a couple emails. So I wouldn’t expect any help if you have any issues with your transaction after signing and making payment. I’ll be trying a different lawyer next time.
