My wife and I had a pre-arranged separation agreement. Simple. No custody issues or complications. Simple math that we both (intelligent, consenting adults) agreed upon. Then came Ravina Sandhu. 31 months of distortion, unpreparedness and extremely poor counsel (she was scolded by the Judge several times for her lack of legal understanding and being unorganized). She demonized myself and my whole family. I attended one day of mediation using Stephanie Fabbro as the mediator (total cost for prep and one day was ~$9000 in just mediation costs) and the matter did not settle. Her bill rate of $550/hr+GST/PST is quite steep for the level of service provided. Like all family law and the lawyers that work in this self serving and predatory industry they exploit and benefit on the misfortune of others by charging completely unjustifiable bill rates for their minimalist services. My largest complaint would be at this exorbitantly high bill rate that she would take the time to improve her Microsoft Excel skills. Inexpensive courses are available to improve this skill. We spent half the mediation time watching her fumble through the simplest of excel functions. As I have found with most lawyers efficiency is not a word that enters into their minds and why would it when their customers are atm's dispensing $20 bills by the minute. If one truly wants to be the best and bill accordingly than it should be expected that the areas of their practice that they are weak in should be continuously worked on to be improved.

She is a knowledge lawyer and a fine mediator but I have given a 2 star rating as I don't feel as though the bill rate justifies the quality/level of the service provided.

Stephanie is a great mediator.
I just went through a difficult separation and we used Stephanie to attempt mediation. She talked to the two of us separately to understand our point of view, our starting points and our areas of concern when trying to find an agreement.
When all together we worked out the issues that were amicable. When we hit a contentious topic, she did not allow us to bicker and separated us to discuss the matter with each of us individually and come to a compromise without an argument.
We came to a signed settlement within 3 months of separation. I feel the process found a fair compromise within a very short time frame and avoided the costs and stresses of going to court.
All in all I would recommend Stephanie as an effective mediator and I am very happy she was able to help us through such a difficult process.
