This is an unsolicited letter re: Sarah Kaabar, Lawyer, employed with Haddock and Company lawyers.
I was fortunate enough have Sarah assigned as my counsel to represent me in this court case.
Briefly, I am a Landlord and unfortunately I had a tenant who proclaimed himself as the landlord and renting out bedrooms (without my permission) on a short term basis which resulted in multiple turnovers.
This case was quite long and complex. I am so thankful for Sarah’s help and legal skills. Her hard work, dedication, organization, and passion for her profession is unprecedented. I was so fortunate to have such a warrior in my camp.
After 2 days of arbitration and 4 day’s later, we were granted our request to evict.

2 STAR RATING; The ratings for this company proves their quality and how they handle themselves. They send ridiculous invoices and then demand you pay what they say. We hired them for two claims of business and on ONE of them, they DID NOT even file a suit THAT WAS TIME SENSITIVE. At first, they tell you to file a suit is 1500$ and won't be more than that then they say oh will give an associate who is cheaper per hr or so you think. Grant who is the lead lawyer also laughs at him being 600 plus per hr. Would be okay to pay that if he would resolve a matter quickly and for the client care of value to money spent. But instead pretends he is going to help you and benefit you but then knows he will take you out for more money later. Anyways will not recommend this firm the hardship is not worth the cost of what he claims he is worth. Our bill was supposed to be 3000$ and he charged us 15k. You do the math and it seems he will make up a lot of excuses when you look at all their replies to the bad reviews

Look at his response. Save your money and go with a firm who cares about small businesses and young families. No way was your 14k justified or fair. Shame on you for that response.

I am not a kind of person who often write a review.
That is why this is the first one.

I have an issue regarding Tenancy law. I have contacted a lot of law firm since September.
Mr. Haddock was recommended by one of the society, and I finally feel relieved even though my case is not settled yet( as I just signed retainer a couple of days ago ).

Kimberly( who is handing my case)is very professional and passionate.

When I first reach out Mr.Haddock, he seemed consider my matters and get things rolling promptly.

Compared with my previous lawyer, Haddock is a way better for sure!

We were in need of legal help with tenants who were extremely difficult to deal with. These tenants were seeking a large sum from us. We were grateful for the help Haddock & Company provided with legal representation. Our
dealings with our legal counsel was always prompt and professional. We were represented up to and including the arbitration hearing with counsel.
We were successful in our outcome of the arbitration case with our former tenants. We would have to attribute this positive outcome, because of our legal counsel representative from Haddock & Company.

If I could rate this law firm zero stars I would.

They will ask you to describe your entire case in detail, will give you positive impression that they can "actually help you" with your case based on their "experience dealing with similar cases" only after you pay a $750 retainer. After the $750 retainer they came back and told me they couldn't do anything for me!! WHY TAKE THE MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE?!

My advice to any landlords or prospective clients: Do your homework before paying the $750 retainer to them, cause you won't see it back if they can't help you even if they sounded positive in the beginning!

If there was an option to rate with minus start I will. I had retained them based on Landlord BC office recommendations to dismiss a simple case but that was worst decision I made. This is not a law firm, it is money making firm. Choosing any firm iwill be better than this.

Zero or no star. I'd not recommend them to anyone. We contacted them for a rental damage of 10k because the rental management company placed a bad tenant. They asked us to provide them with details about the case, we did, they told us they can help us and to proceed with $750. We did, when they cashed the money, they told us, we don't have a case to win. We felt no transparency or mercy!. If you take details about the case and you know we won't win, why you ask for the money
