My father, on whose behalf I am writing this review, went to Graham and Associates as he felt Canada Revenue Agency had erred in assessing his income tax returns to his financial disadvantage. Wendy reviewed his tax returns and quickly determined CRA had made a calculation error. She made the changes and resubmitted the returns. I find the staff kind, caring and interested in helping. They regularly go above and beyond what they need to do. Their fees are reasonable and they are always willing to offer suggestions or planning from year to year.

I appreciate that they contribute to our community regularly by supporting bottle drives, cookie fundraisers and donations to our local food bank.

My husband and I have been coming here since 2012…we opened our business in 2013. At first Wendy was delightful and so helpful. I gave a raving review on facebook and had many people reach out and ask me about my review. 😬 … I don't know if all the awards and good reviews went to their head but ALL the staff have BIG EGOS and a ton of attitude. Like they are annoyed with everything!

Even Wendy, who I kept coming back here for cant even be bothered to talk to me now. I’m not sure if I did something wrong or if they just hate their jobs but looking at some of these other recent reviews others are experiencing the same.

For the last 3 years I just sucked it up and dealt with the progressively worst behaviour from the staff. Then this year I was having issues with the CRA “My Account” and “My Business Account” because of a debt consolidation during the pandemic and restructuring of our business. I went in to ask questions and to get a print out of my resent assessment since they had access to my accounts and they were so mean and annoyed I couldn't just figure it out on my own. The staff member even rolled their eyes at me like I am stupid!

That was the last straw for my husband. He told a client about our experience and he referred us to this amazing woman who helped us quickly and easily get access to our CRA accounts and sort out the issue with our GST information by sitting with us, calling them, talking to them and setting things straight. Once we got the agent on the phone the whole thing took only 10min.

Honestly, I was so stressed with about bringing my 2023 taxes in late because that really annoys this staff, even though I am okay with the late penalty charges, and I was stressed about not having everything organized this year … with all the receipts having descriptions of business expenses, put into the proper months envelopes and all the expenses totalled up and written on the outside of the envelope because they charge way more if I don't organize and calculate everything for them. I was at my wits end, had a complete melt down, as I frantically tried to get everything organized & calculated, calling the CRA with them hanging up on me because I didn't have the info about my previous taxes to get access to my accounts or they didn't understand what was going on with my GST so they just hung up… I got to the point of hysterically crying and my husband said, “don't worry babe I’ll fix it. Its not you its them and they are obviously stressing you out.” And he did! He found me the BEST accountant ever!

The new accountant we are now going to explained how a lot of these people in this field, CRA included, are sociopaths and don't have any empathy for anyone. She calmed me down when I tried to explain our GST situation, the treatment we were getting, why we were late filling and why everything wasn't properly organized…she told me she would handle everything, it’s her job after all. What a relief! Like a big burden and anxiety being lifted off my chest so I could breath. As a creative I don't like book work…I like to create and I like the freedom of owning my own business to control my schedule. She took everything as is and did it within a week…didn't charge us any extra! Even handled our new business we opened during pandemic and helped me set up quickbooks to organize as I go instead of putting everything in an envelope by months, hand writing business expense info on paper and calculate all my expenses. It felt so good just to work with someone who's so compassionate and actually likes the profession they chose!

Anywho…
My suggestion for this company is to treat people better or you'll lose long term customers like us or turn away new ones.
To anyone thinking of using their services…if you like attitude and people treating you like garbage this is the place for you!
