Ganges Marina - Île Saltspring, British Columbia

Good location with nearby shopping. Staff are friendly, fuel is reasonably priced (for the Gulf Islands) Docks are a bit rough. Floatplanes land frequently—great if you like the action, less so if you’re after quiet. Decent marina overall for the Gulf Islands. like all the islands, water use is pretty restricted.

Preferred staying at Ganges Marina on this visit to Salt Spring.

The staff were very accommodating and even helped us download maps for our navigation system that required a Windows OS.

Found no issues with the integrity of the docks as other reviews mention.

The showers and toilets are all onesies, so all activities can be performed privately. The neighboring Salt Spring Marina, did not have a private changing area for each shower when we were last there. Ganges Marina had private changing areas with each shower.

Shower was 1 Loonie for 4 minutes. Takes 30-45 seconds for the hot water. Water gets hot. Good pressure too. Pro tip: be sure to get a shower with a ceiling fan unless you want a toasty steam room experience.

Have I experienced nicer marina showers and heads? Most definitely, but these are clean, private, and stocked with paper towels and toilet paper, which is a win in my book.

This marina is also closer to town. If you stay here it’s worth the walk to Francis Bread for breakfast sandwiches (get there just before they open), check out the neighboring food options while you’re there. And hit up Cassette in town for great food.

Great marina, friendly staff. Fuel dock. All amenities within walking distance. Been here before, definitely coming back again.

All water spigots on every finger not working. Even main water source beside office is turned off, except during very limited office hours.

Paid extra for shore power and it’s not working. Waiting for the office to open (10am!) to figure out water and power issues. Pretty expensive for such poor amenities.

Ganges is an old and tired marina but your only choice when visiting wonderful Ganges by boat. The place is run down and worn I damaged my boat on a protruding electrical box which should have been set back from the dock edge.

We stayed for a couple of nights and had a great time. Very quiet and calm at night so we slept well. Very clean washrooms and showers. Super friendly and helpful staff - offered to catch the lines when we called in on arrival. The location is perfect - right in town, with easy access to great coffee and lovely restaurants and shops. We’ll definitely return!

We love this place! The people that run it are amazing and the whole town is wonderful. Great spot to spend a few days. Lots of nice places to pull your boat in. They have showers which we loved! A quick walk to everything you need.
