My parents have been doing taxes with them for over 20 years. I myself have been commutting from ottawa to also give them business for the past 10 years.
Yesterday was the most unprofessional experience I've had at an establishment that is to be about personal information.
An older lady with white hair in a braid was with another client, I was speaking with another lovely young lady, asking for information on certain subjects and she rudely and aggressively interrupted us, stopping what she was doing with her client and continued to force her statements.
I was asking for information from the person to do my taxes, which was not her, and I would have walked right out if it were and never gone back.
The owners should take her aside and teach her proper customer service techniques along with proper etiquette on how to serve long standing and new clients.
Absolutely disgusted and appalled. She should not be listening to our conversation let along interjecting, no matter what she had to say. Then to give the ugliest rudest condescending look to me. She was lucky I was in a good mood that day. I would have taken my parents, my siblings, my partners and my own business else where. And if it happens again I will ensure we do not use their services again due to this singular employee!

This years update - I did my taxes on. Wealthsimple and assumed I messed up because I received way less than last year. I went back to these guys and once again they were terrible. Read last years review. Well, for the second year in a row I got the EXACT same amount on Wealthsimple so DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Half of what I will receive was wasted on paying these clowns who most likely used Wealthsimple themselves. I would have paid 0 to use them.

Used these guys for about 10 years. This year, they sent me out for more information. I got that information and upon my return, I wasn't asked the information but was asked for something different. Upon returning for a 3rd time, I thought it was smooth sailing. A few days after dropping it off, I received a call asking about something home related. I then asked if they needed my property taxes. I was told yes so it was disappointing to not be asked in the first place. Then, several days later, I received yet another question for a basic question that should have been asked upon drop off. I wish I recalled the exact question. They did charge me a $20 fee because I sold a home which is outrageous to charge. In total, I waited a week and was charged $95. I then did my taxes on Wealthsimple to see which is better. I would have had the EXACT same refund but wouldn't have paid $95 nor would have I waited a week. I didn't pay to get the money right there and then either. Don't bother with them, save money, frustration and time

I gave them all of my T4’s on February.26th and went out west working 20 days and called them 3 times leaving a voicemail every time and never heard back! Flew back today on a plane and drove from hamilton to come check here on my one week off and they still didn’t have them done a month later!

And they have a desk where you drop them off and don’t actually sit down with anyone anymore, then they explain your personal information in front of about 5-10 other people in the same room! Very unprofessional and I will not be returning here next year!

Used this business after covid...2021 2022 tax years...I was appalled at how non confidential the process was. I guess since we were just post covid they were not taking clients in to the office for actual sit down discussions regarding your returns , in a private setting. Instead, a worker in the front lobby was reviewing individual tax returns with clients at a table set up in the front lobby, while I (and several other customers) were an arms length away and could hear every detail. To me, Financials are a private matter. When it was my turn to come up to the make shift table and receive my return information, the woman went through it with me, and rather than just pointing to and having me read for myself the hi lighted areas of my return amounts and money owed she had to say the amounts out loud , which I am sure the entire foyer of waiting customers heard. There were probably 6 others waiting behind me. Incredibly unprofessional in my opinion. Displeased with the lack of privacy and confidentiality. Will not be returning to first tax again.

Thank you to Carol and her staff. They have been doing our families income tax for the past 10 years. They are all professional, and the returns are prepared in just a few days. If we had any questions they were always accommodating and took the time to explain. Will highly recomend them for business or Personal income taxes.
