I’ve visited this location twice—once for myself and once with a family member—and unfortunately, both experiences were quite disappointing due to the staff member working there.

On both visits, the same individual came across as indifferent, unapproachable, and generally uninterested in helping. There was no greeting, no effort to communicate, and absolutely no sense of customer service. I got the impression that my presence was an inconvenience, which made the interaction uncomfortable and frustrating.

Despite this, I remained polite and cooperative throughout. Still, I couldn’t help but feel unsure about trusting the process or whether my documents would be handled properly. Initially, I gave the benefit of the doubt—thinking maybe it was just a bad day—but I later noticed other customers seemed to have had similar experiences in the review.

The second visit was even more surprising. As soon as we walked in, without a greeting, the same person was there and said, “We’re fully booked! Do you have an appointment?” I was caught off guard and asked, “Do you even offer appointment bookings?” He replied, “No, we don’t, but we’re booked for today.” I didn’t know how to respond. After a moment, he added, “Do you want to book an appointment for tomorrow?” I simply said, “No, thank you,” and left.

Interestingly, I ended up going to the nearest RCMP office afterward, and the difference was like night and day. The staff there were welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful—we even shared a few laughs during the process. On top of that, their service was $20 cheaper.

I recently visited CROSS-CHECKS for fingerprinting services, and I couldn't be more impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. The staff were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating throughout the entire process. I visited this location on February 25th at 11:30 AM and had a disappointing experience with the staff member on duty. He was indifferent, unapproachable, and seemed uninterested in assisting customers. His demeanor made me feel like he didn’t really want me to be there, as if I was inconveniencing him just by me showing up. There was no greeting, no effort to engage, and certainly no sense of customer service.

What made it even more surprising was reading so many positive reviews beforehand—I was expecting a much better experience. Unfortunately, my visit did not match that standard. I’ve had better interactions at government service counters, which says a lot. At least there, staff provide the basic courtesy expected in a professional setting. For a business where customers are paying for service, I expected at least a minimum level of attentiveness and respect.

At the same time, I want to be fair—this review is purely from my perspective. Anyone at your end who wants to assess the situation for themselves can simply review the security camera footage. Even without audio, the body language between both of us will clearly show how the interaction went.

Perhaps this was just an off day for him, but first impressions matter. It only takes one negative experience to discourage a return visit. I hope this isn't the usual experience for others, but based on my visit, I left feeling unwelcome and disappointed.

Erin was extremely friendly and helpful, the overall process was very quick and easy. I was in and out much faster than expected and appreciated Erin's consideration in explaining each step of the fingerprinting process, what to do after the screening, etc. A very positive experience!

If you have trouble finding the office location as I did:

1) There is free 2 hour parking in the main complex as well as underground parking.

2) Look for the "Professional Offices B" sign to find an entrance in between a Province of BC office (social development) and the KW Elite Realty office.

3) There will be a clearly labelled sign inside the small lobby of the entrance of the second and third floor businesses, with Cross-Checks being on the second floor, room 211. There are elevators for ease of access.

4) Take the elevator and walk down the hall on the second floor to find the Cross-Checks office on your left hand side. 🙂

Very professional and efficient. They are accredited by RCMP to do digital fingerprinting and criminal record checks and have competitive rates compared with RCMP. They are open during the COVID situation by appointment (while RCMP detachment in Coquitlam has not yet opened their fingerprinting services at the front counter due to COVID) and they accommodated me with the same day appointment. The office is clean and sanitized as well. Highly recommend!
