I would like to say a few words about my experience with Downsview Community Legal Services.

Actually, it won’t be a few words but many

(My long story as short as I can).

I was desperate!

I was falsely accused by my acting landlord in multiple fabricated offenses. I needed someone that could defend me from being unfairly harassed for almost a year and going to be unfairly evicted due to acting landlord’s antipathy.

Also, should be said not at my favor, I woke up with understanding of my need in help, quite late. I would say that in most cases it would be too late to be helped and being more specific, three days prior the LTB court.

I have contacted wonderful and kind lady. Eva, that works at reception. She helped me to fill up all the intake forms and designated to me professional and very caring student lawyer, Vasilii Muravev. If I wouldn’t se his title at email I would say that he is a lawyer - He handled everything very professionally.

Vasili, amazed me with his responsiveness and prompt acting. Through just two days, Vasilii dived into my VERY complicated and packed with details case, and on the third day, he aced an almost impossible negotiations with the accusing side and ended my year long sufferings before stepping into the court room.

When at the end, we stepped into the courtroom, the adjudicator pointed out that I am not a tenant but an occupant of the unit, what leaves me undefeated in front of of the law and harassing superintendent. Vasilii, did the impossible!
He succeeded to convince adjudicator’s to change his mind and recognize me as a tenant based on 7 years of my tenancy, and eventually, closed the case against me.

Vasili not only took off all accusations, but also successfully set a set of house rules, that are defending me from potential further superintendent’s harassments and unfair treatment.

I have no enough words to describe my appreciation for incredible work of Downsview Community Legal Services team, and willing to say separate words of thanking to Vasilii Muravev.

I wish to Vasilii further career progression as a lawyer. Please, keep doing such a wonderful job that you are doing - helping those that are in need.
