Over the last 20 years I have worked with various notaries. Notaire Dan Derhy is by far the absolute best notary in the city. Extremely competent, highly professional, a mastermind at setting up your legal file and furthermore, he is genuine and compassionate. I would recommend him without hesitation to all my family and friends.

They asked for a 7000$ retainer to help homologate my mother’s mandate who was suffering from Alzheimer’s. After 6 months nothing was done and in the end the CLSC had her admitted to memory care because of her severely deteriorated state. I asked to be refunded the balance of my account. They made up a phony story that they used up all the hours despite me never being given an invoice, no updates and no trial. They eventually gave me a made up invoice saying the work was done, with no proof of any hours used. I never received a refund. Absolutely go elsewhere!

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Dan to prepare our wills.
From the outset, I have only good things to say about Dan and his team. They are extremely professional, accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.
All our questions were answered and Dan is like a good professor who really knows his stuff. He took as much time as needed to clearly explain everything in detail to us. We never felt pressured for time.
