I had a issue with my Landlord in 2022. They went against every human rights act. It was/ is disgusting. ? We all know the system is extremely broken, as It takes alot of work and time to speak with the LTB, File, and wait for a hearing date. I needed some guidance to continue my fight. I was referred to Ms. Cote from another Paralegal that is no longer in the field of LTB issues in 2023. Ms. Cotè replied almost instantly, and met with me in person in a local public place. I suffer from Anxiety and other disabilities and Ms. Cote made me feel at ease. She took over all my worries. She answered every question I had, and if she didnt have an answer right away, she researched and inquired with her fellow colleges to put my concerns at ease. In my opinion, She is understanding with clients feelings and does her best. She isnt intimidated by the bullies we deal have to deal with. (Landlords/Slumlords)
She added herself to my LTB portal to represent me instantly. She communicated with me around the clock. After waiting almost 18 months for a hearing date with the LTB, my anxiety went into full throttle. Again, Ms Cotè eased that feeling of being bullied, feeling defeated, feeling nervous, ect by assuring me "She had my Back." She explained multiple times that I have nothing to worry about. She went over my evidence, and explained my choices. One of them being is Trying to settle out of court (the hearing)
We actually Did. So I didnt have to go through the anxiety and struggle of sitting long periods of time ect. She gave me the choices. Whatever I chose, she continued my fight. I feel as a client, she works With you. Your opinions matter. ?
If you feel something is Right, I suggest follow through with it with the Help of Liz. Bullies get away with so much these days because no one stands up to them. Morals and Principles play a big part. It certainly does take a village.
