We have had nothing but problems with the portal since being forced to use it. Day one was a nightmare regarding login problems, then we had access to another companys profile but they were listed as us. Now clients that had hours of time invested into completeing the set up have vanished.... Avoid at all costs, this is a total money grab.

Obtaining Contractor Check accreditation via their portal is easy and user-friendly. Client requirements are clear and concise and review time is quick to achieve compliance. Every representative I've communicated with have always been very helpful.

Extortion, pure and simple. Not surprising, as it's creator was a venture capitalist. Putting small businesses out of business, with their demand for our money, in addition to the threat of losing customers if we do NOT get "accredited". We've been in business forever, always insured and always WSIB compliant. That we have to pay a third party for the "privilege" of being accredited? Extortion. Do not recommend. Sold to foreign interests, recently. Of course, gotta spread MY money across the globe. I guess. Worthless bunch of paper-pushers.

Phone numbers they provide you - they dont work.
They take your money but want you to do all the work. Customer service wants you to talk to them like youre a 6 year old child. Totally tone deaf. Theyre not ready for real business calls at 9am. You charge almost 1K for a service which you have to do all the work. When asked questions about the benefits of their service you will not get an answer worth your thousand bucks.

ContractorCheck needs to get their act together! A portal was sent to us to complete our questionnaire - which I started and then I try to login to continue the questionnaire only to find out that the incorrect portal was sent to us.....and the questionnaire is gone!! So now I have to start the questionnaire over. I login to the new portal and I can't even get a questionnaire.....phoned and spoke to an assessor and he can't find our assessment!! You would think the new portal would be completely tested before wiping out the old one.
And in the most recent newsletter - the contact phone # is incorrect!
For the fees we pay, better administrative services should be provided.

So ContractorCheck is keeping up with its poor service - we were re-accredited and all of sudden we are no longer in that status and login states to review feedback. What feedback We haven''t received anything except a request for an insurance certificate which was provided weeks ago and we have heard nothing since. This service is a complete waste of money but is a requirement for customers.

Here we go again....now we receive notification that we have an outstanding requirement for re-accreditation.....and what is that requirement - we have no idea as no one gets in contact with us to let us know!! And we are to contact our assessor..... don't even know who that is.....the e-mails could be mistaken for spam as they do not have any proper signatures or contact information....hopefully our customers that require this service are getting some benefit because there sure isn't any benefit to us!!

Really difficult to find any value in the "service" they offer. Some owners (developers) want to offload the administrative burden of legitimatizing the biding contractors so they hire ContractorCheck to do this. ContractorCheck is really good at collecting money and sending annoying emails, but they accreditation process is all virtual and easily fudged. It's a cash grab - charge the contractor to get "accredited" by ContractorCheck standards, and then do nothing for the contractor or owner to promote safety or compliance. Customer service is awful.

Lost all of my data through their switch to a new database. I was imputing data into a dead database and had to start over after it was complete. Lost a week of work. The customer service rep was less than helpful.

This program takes a lot of effort for very little value.

Very confusing organization. They won't email, always have to call me. And it's always a different person who doesn't know anything about what the last person said. They constantly reach out to offer unsolicited help, then when you actually have a question, you get an unhelpful stock response. I suggest you bill your client through the roof if they ask you to work with Alcumus Contractor Check. Or try to convince them to use one of the many other reputable agencies instead.
