Community Living BC is a provincial crown agency, mandated under the Community Living Authority Act, that funds supports and services through service agencies for adults with developmental disabilities and their families in British Columbia. CLBC claims that they work to create communities where people with developmental disabilities have more choices about how they live, work and contribute. Although CLBC has good intentions I find that the bureaucracy in Salmon Arm is atrocious to say the least.

I have also had difficulties with the CLBC faciliator. I have not participated in any meetings without her continuously talking over me to the point that I am forced to conciliate. On one occasion this individual verbally attacked me over my animosity toward services provided. She also claims that she has known me personally for 7 years when I have engaged in no more than 2 conversations with her personally. I have talked to other professionals that work under this crackerjack who have participated in these meetings and they agree that her approach is unethical and emotionally destructive but unfortunately they can not give any input or arbitrate the situation based on the fact that she is the administrator.
I have actually taken my Human Service Work course (if that implies anything) and conclude that whatever tactics were used in these situations were primitive and malignant!
Salmon Arm needs to provide better support networks!!!
