Highly recommend taking the water taxi with Dennis (Clayoquot Connections) to Meares Island, for a hike around the island. Dennis is warm and knowledgeable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the ride and information he shared. It was mid September, and we were able to call up Jamie's Whaling Station and get a ride out to Meares Island 30 minutes later! We hiked the longer loop on the Island -- lots of tree roots, and plenty of trees to climb over, but absolutely gorgeous. My only regret, was not thinking to ask Dennis if he could pick us up 30 minutes later, so we might have had a little time to sit on the beach for lunch!

Took the sunset tour with Dennis. It was incredible, with changing light almost every second, giving stunning views. Dennis was a fantastic guide, so knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this!

Great little bakery, nice to pick up a coffee and munchy for the road back to the east side of the island.
