Very Disappointed in this Law Firm.

My father had recently passed away and I called to see if I could get some advice and potentially set up services. Mr. Melville talked with me for about 20 minutes and seemed very nice. He said he would follow up on some answers and then contact me the next day to talk about seeing whether services would be a good idea.

Someone from his office did call the next day but I was unable to pick up the phone. He left a voicemail saying he would call later on the weekend instead. The weekend came and went with no phone call. I called and left a message with the receptionist asking for a call back when he was available.

A week went by with no response. I called the receptionist again inquiring if I could speak with him. However, he was in a meeting and so I left another message with her.

Finally, I called back a week later after not hearing back. I left another (admittedly frustrated) message with the receptionist imploring him to contact me as I had not heard back in over 3 weeks.

Another week has come and gone with no call back. Not even to say that they are too busy with other clients or they think another law firm may be better able to help.

It is safe to say this type of unresponsive behavior is highly unprofessional. Go to someone else who actually has the decency to call potential clients back!!

I have been very disappointed in my dealings with Mr. Melville so far. I find him to be a very unfair and petty man.

He has handled an position of Arbitration in a dispute between me and my sister where my sister basically sued me with her litigation attorney Dawn Phillips-Brown who I will also be writing a review about her unprofessionalism while handling matters that should be respected like a simple Will and Last Testament that states equal division amongst the two of us.

His intervention to say the least has been harmful not only to my parents estate but to just basic human decency. I find him to be the epitome of what every Canadian shouldn't be in my dealings with him to date.

He literally designated himself to preform estate division for a day at my parents estate at the whopping fee of $450 dollars an hour. If you want this kind of help you might as well just shoot yourself in the foot as it will help you far more, than he will in my opinion.

His radical intervention, do I not only disagreed with when I felt a simple estate attorney with mediation skills could have intervened at a far more reasonable cost, but my sister wouldn't listen to reason. Instead of him refusing the matter, and just advising both parties to do the right thing to both parties, he intervened in what I believe was an interest in financial gains solely, which is pretty obvious at this point in time.

If you prefer your family's money being in your family's pocket, and having food on your table, stay far away from him as he'll just make you homeless and financially destitute and not give a single damn about it. That's what sort of class this man exudes in my humbled opinion of him.

I believe, he was trying to inspire more infighting to gain more financial gains, instead of truly trying to offer some resolve to the issues.

I have placed complaints to the Law Society about his tactics not only once but twice and if he has done this to anyone else, I'd advise you do similar.
This kind of radical approach and abuse of positions of power trust and authority shouldn't be tolerated in a society that is supposed to be fair and just here in Canada, and he has been part of the downfall of this nation, in my opinion.

You didn't see lawyers like this coming out of the woodwork to help anyone during the Covid-19 crisis when everyone's rights were being infringed, they only sat back and harmed society by not getting involved in the many issues going on.
This kind of lawyer blatantly tried to capitalize and gain from bad happenings, while profiteering in my opinion. Which is blatantly despicable when so much has gone wrong in society in the last three years that could be easily rectified if people actually were unified and helped each other in the true Canadian spirit. But don't expect that from this guy as all he displays is incorrigible behavior.

He was so eager to evict me before he even gave a list of property division that it was downright sickening his sense of reason seems to be lacking.
Even when it comes to obeying a simple Will and Last Testament which is supposed to be protected by law. He violates the law that he is supposed to stand for openly and flaunts the violation, in a gross display of negative humor.
His claim to fame is one precedence ruling that you can look up for yourself on the CanLawII webite. The case shows what you'll be dealing with.
