Very poor communication. Constantly feel ignored. They definitely do not strive to help bring families back together. My social worker seems to have a superiority complex and only helps when she feels like it.

Child protection is furthest concern by this ministry and it’s staff in this office. Taking children for the sake of a pay check, to busy standing high on their mighty pedestal of provincial greatness. Not concerned with listening to child or parents, just what they believe is best for them. Twist words, lie and cover up their negligence to prevent more unpleasant public opinion. Children I’ve seen go through the ministry “care” have come back to parents, schools and society way more messed up then to begin with. Not to say that they don’t help or rescue real potential child protection concerns, but from my perspective much more harm with their involvement than helping the child, parents or community. This ministry works off shame based presents in a parents life. Zero accountability to ministry flaws, down play failures of the ministry to act. Can’t trust anything you tell them to be recorded accurately or get a sensible resolve. Unrealistic expectations are to be met without support. Thanks for nothing but a nightmare and worse situation.

This office is extremely demoralized and unethical! They do not use thier power for the greater good of the family but for the greater good of thier service outlet. They often lie to cover thier own malpractice (or just lack of practice), or lie to have things go 'thier' way and are very power hungry.I have heard many stories about salmon arm ministry doing much more harm then good & they have a poor reputation across the province! They do not follow thier own policies and guidelines for 'best interest of child', they remove children way to quickly when they are supposed to try and help or support firstly... even when parents are doing good they do not try everything in thier power to help families towards a speedy reunification as mandate says .. Quite the opposite!! Its sad what they are doing to families in our community and they should not be trusted !!! They also cancel visits & don't make them up, they make excuse when extended family members try to visit the child. They do not follow advice of specialists for that case ,such as, medical professionals, drug&alc councillors, support workers,etc but instead overstep their boundaries!And do as they please! Watch what you tell them because they can and will change your words around to fit thier agenda. We the people of salmon arm need to come together and help families! In anyway possible! Demand these people start doing things the way they are supposes to! Stop the lies and start to help rebuild families not keep them apart!! The corruption is big. And its true that the more kids removed.. The more funding they get!! Its about $ and who pays the price!? It's sickening!

This office has nothing better to do than harass people. They can run up and down the highway on the long weekend to harass a family at the Kamloops hospital that just had a premature baby, after the family has had 2 deaths to deal with in the past week. Accusations of drug abuse when clearly there is none since the Kamloops hospital found the baby and mother to be healthy. The province of BC should internally investigate and close this useless office.

Said they would pay for my schooling but after mouth’s of notice’s that it has not been paid. They had the payments on there desk collecting dust
