I have been in my place for over a year and the landlord is doing absolutely nothing to stop the criminal Harrassment that has been a daily and complete torment with my anxiety getting worse by the day. The reason is because the landlord and tenant tribunal is backed up 53000 cases. The tribunal has collapsed. The landlords think that, while there is no authority to prevent them from doing anything that they want. They are violating tenant rights without any regard for the Law. Doug Ford is turning a blind eye to the situation as well, he is turning a blind eye to the opiate crisis that is killing our your adults. I am sure if the death toll was made public, society would be shocked. I have had to take my housing Harrassment and total disregard of my peace and enjoyment of my unit to the Ontario human rights commission. They have taken my Case . I am being discriminated against because I am a Man and my age and because I am receiving ODSP. If a woman who were in the same situation , her problem would have been dealt with immediately . This is unbelievable. A government department fails and the rule of law is thrown out the window. There are very strange and never before heard of abuse complete neglect being allowed to happen and not a single person is being held responsible. Was Covid that bad that we are allowing people's human rights to be abused to a point that it is resembles a complete break down of the rule of law ? Nobody is above the Law. Adults and kids are dying in front of our Police station with the Police also turning a blind eye to this outrageous neglect from the very people who are to serve and protect. I asked a Police officer why this is happening. He told me that, when they arrest the adults and younger kids for drug possession and, it goes to court. He stated that the Judge throws the cases out because they are addicted. He said for that reason they the "police" have decided not to arrest anymore people that are dying every single day. What is happening? When a Police force disobeys the criminal code of Canada, something is seriously wrong. Since when does the Chief of police have the power to not follow the rule of law and not obey legislation passed by the federal government. People are living and dying on the streets of Hamilton Ontario Canada. Another form of discrimination. I was brought up to respect the Law but, the Law or people who enforce it are letting innocent people die on the streets. We have no idea what those people who are living on the streets have had to deal with in the past that caused them to turn to drugs. Trudeau has to GO and Ford has to go . This terrible situation is going to get so out of control, then how do you fix it. Trudeau forget to crisis in Hati and worry about your own people. Don't get on the world stage and say look what we did for Haiti. Your own Country Men and Women are dying from your neglect. You are very outspoken on war crimes and China's human rights abuses. Look in the mirror. You are committing a terrible crime and you will answer for it . Your wife has left you and your life is falling apart, so step down. Yo drama school teacher PUNK.. Oh Canada, what a Country.
Drama punk go back to school..............

The Human Rights Legal Support Centre had took on two of my human rights complaints one of them were against the Durham Regional Police Service after being routinely stopped by the police about 10 years ago. My matter eventually went to a hearing and ultimately a decision was rendered by the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario finding that the police officers involved in my case had racially profiled me. The fight did not stop there, some claims were made from the counsel for the police service and that was another battle within itself.

The HRLSC were there for me every step of the way meticulously working on my cases, my experience with the lawyers and staff at the HRLSC has always been positive and was a learning experience for me. Thank you HRLSC.

I did not get legal advice until after 6 months so some of my complaints against my employer exceeded the statute of limitation, which is 1 year. I have made a lot of mistakes with my Application including waiting for legal advice before submission. When a lawyer from HRLSC finally called me, after I reported my experience to the Ombudsman, she only gave me one option: SETTLE. I felt like she's advocating the Respondent as if she were a spy. I was forced to hire a lawyer (which I do not recommend) because of my worsening mental health and because I am not a morning person (I work the night shift). The proceedings have become protracted and I was forced to settle because the HRTO would not allow online testimonies (this was pre-Covid) when my body aches had started to become severe in the mornings. After my lawyer my human rights away, for the first time he told me that I have a case. If I were given proper legal options by the HRLSC, I would not have hired a private and expensive lawyer and I would have had the confidence to face this battle on my own. So zero stars. And by the way, beware of the confidential and non-transparent arbitration with the Respondent(s), it is a way to get into your head that you do not have a case. As long as the HRTO does not drop your Application, you DO have a case.

NO SUPPORT!!! No recognition for cognitive disabilities!!! Disgraceful! Your job is to support people in filing as well as after yet I have only been continued to be told online resources and apparently not enough funding?! You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!

I spoke with a representative last week and they booked me an appointment this week (surprisingly fast). I never received the email confirming it however, I wrote to them seeking the confirmation however they didn't respond. Date for the appointment came along and here I am waiting around with no one calling. Called in and they said I never spoke with them to book the appointment despite me clearly having phone records that show a 14 minute conversation.
