This post has been a long time coming. In 2010 my son was at the end of his driveway and was hit by a drunk driver. He was 20 years old at the time. I can't remember how many feet he went in the air but he landed on the pavement on his head. My son came very close to dying that night. He was in the hospital for a few months and went through hell getting his life back. I hired a law firm here in PEI when it happened and after 2 years of getting zero help I called Boyne & Clarke and asked if they would take over his case. I can't begin to explain how everything changed when they got involved. Not only did they get things started by shaking things up with the Insurance companies, they also saved my mental health in the process. As a Mom I was emotionally broken. Lawsuits take time, a lot of time especially with head injuries because there are constant tests, physio, cognitive, MRI etc. I think it was maybe 6 years David Parker and his team listened when I was frustrated, when I cried, when I was mad. They answered every email I sent and I sent A LOT. They saw us through our worst time as a family. They spent about 8 hours in mediation fighting for us while we were in the next room. They came out with a settlement which was much more than I had anticipated. I feel like my lawyer wasted my money...in other words I was ripped off. The lawyer was supposed to write a demand letter and it wound up lacking assertiveness, persuasiveness, and was weak. It also contained information that the lawyer knew to be untrue. I'm glad that I severed ties with her before the letter was sent. For the price I paid I thought I would get competent representation. I was wrong. When I pointed out to my lawyer that she had put incorrect information into the letter she said that she was doing so in case we were to go to the Supreme Court...this case is over a car sale. My lawyer must be suffering from delusions of grandeur. Anyway, I can't wait to see the bill so I can know exactly how much this place fleeced me for when they did absolutely nothing for me in return.

I engaged with Boyne Clark for legal representation, Peter Crowther unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Here are the key reasons why:

1. Repetitive Questions: Throughout our interactions, repeatedly asked the same questions, which was frustrating and inefficient.
2. Inaccurate Billing: The billing process was problematic. Charges were inconsistent, and I couldn’t trust the accuracy of the invoices.
3. Irritated Lawyer: When I sought clarification on billing matters, the lawyer displayed irritation and impatience, which is unacceptable in a professional setting. I was told “I have never had a client go through there bill line by line” When I address my dissatisfied service, he said “We all have our opinions”

4. Punctuality Issues: late for scheduled meetings, wasting my time and causing inconvenience.
5. Unprepared for Meetings: Shockingly, they often appeared unprepared during our meetings, lacking essential information or documents.
6. Missed Court Date: The ultimate disappointment came when the assigned lawyer failed to attend my court date, jeopardizing my case.
7. Inadequate Replacement: When a replacement lawyer T. Sheppard stepped in, he was equally unprepared and unfamiliar with my case.
In summary, my experience with Boyne Clark was marked by inefficiency, unprofessional behavior, and a lack of commitment. I strongly advise potential clients to consider other options for Family Law.
Your client is who pays your wage, and you should work for them. The lazy attitude displayed and for someone needs your council, do better then what was given or just don’t do it at all.
